REVIEW: Bekonscot Model Village & Railway

Today we took a little road trip to Bekonscot Model Village & Railway, and it was an okay day. Not the best and I’ll explain why.

Now the model village is great to look at! It’s fascinating to see the very tiny details, and it’s quite impressive when you see it up close!

My issue with the day was the fact that we were practically the only one’s social distancing. The paths around the village are very narrow, and that’s fine of course, but you would think people would have the common sense to keep their distance seeing as there isn’t much space and we’re still in the middle of a pandemic!

It also didn’t seem like they were not controlling numbers either as it felt swamped when we were there. It could be the time as we went at noon, so you might have better luck if you go earlier!

Where?

Warwick Rd, Beaconsfield HP9 2PL

They have a free car park with limited spaces. There’s also a pay and display car park nearby.

How much?

All tickets currently need to be booked online in advance. Arrival time slots are available three weeks in advance. You can book tickets here!

Food

My highlight of the day was the ice cream lol. That was the best ice cream I’ve ever had! There’s no hot food, unfortunately. I’m not sure if that’s a COVID thing or normal practise but I didn’t stick around to ask because the lady serving wasn’t the friendliest.

Social distancing measures.

Apart from a few arrows and some hand sanitiser stations, I didn’t see much going on. We didn’t check out the toilets, but I do know they were open. The playground was closed, which is annoying seeing as they’re now allowed to open up. It’s the reason why we didn’t stay long.

Would we go back?

Probably not. It’s one of those places you only really visit once. I say go check it out but maybe wait for the playground to open up because you can walk around the village in under an hour!
