REVIEW: Paddington Afternoon Tea Bus Tour

We love a good themed afternoon tea, so we were thrilled to be among the first to try Brigit’s Bakery’s BRAND NEW Paddington afternoon tea bus tour.

The tour was scheduled for 9:45 a.m., but the bus did not arrive until 10:20 a.m. I appreciate them calling to let us know, but there were a few kids (mine included) who were getting antsy. There is a small bench next to the bus stop, so you may want to arrive a little early to secure a seat in case your tour is also running late (hopefully not).

The menu

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to have any of the main bits . It sucks to be allergic to nuts, but I completely understand. I wouldn’t want to pop my clogs early for a cake😬. Little Miss, on the other hand, had a bit of everything and she adored the marmalade sandwich shortbread cookie.

I had some peppermint tea and tried the scones, which were delicious.

This link will take you to the vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and Halal menus.

The tour

Similarly to the Peppa Pig tour, each table has a special built-in screen where you can watch a Paddington-guided animation of the tour of London.

Paddington and Mrs Bird tell us about some of London’s most famous landmarks, such as Big Ben, The Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, and others.

I felt like the tour was lacking in interaction. During the Peppa Pig bus tour, we had a sing song and there was a great entertainer onboard interacting with all the kids. I know the Peppa tour is aimed at a younger audience, but I think some more interaction would enhance the Paddington tour. Perhaps it’s something they’ll think about in the future.

The important bits

  • There are no toilets onboard so make sure you go beforehand.
  • Price: Adults are from £45 and kids are from £35.
  • The tour lasts approximately 1hr and 45 minutes but this can potentially be longer due to traffic.
  • The tour is suitable for kids 5 and over but you can check out the Peppa pig tour where the minimum age is 2.
  • Pick up address: No. 8 Northumberland Av, London, WC2N 5BY
  • The Paddington Afternoon Tea Bus Tour is available weekly from Wednesdays to Sundays.

There’s no denying it’s an expensive day out, but I believe it’s worthwhile. The experience would make an excellent Christmas or birthday present. I’ve always said that experiences are better than material things. Memories last a lifetime, and this would be a lovely one to have.

Here’s the link to book if you’d like to try it out for yourself. Make sure you check out our IG reel too!

Our tickets were complimentary but all views are my own. Also the bear isn’t included. That belongs to little miss 🙂
