REVIEW: A Fairytale afternoon at The Tea Terrace

So if you watched our Instagram stories today, you would’ve seen that we spent our morning at the Tea Terrace as I booked a Cinderella-style afternoon tea. Well, I say afternoon tea, but when we had a look at the menu and we decided to have lunch instead. It was such a lovely experience, and both myself and little Miss really enjoyed it. I’m going to show you how it all works below.

I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve seen this advertised on Facebook, and with it being the last EOTHO day I decided today was the perfect day to go.

FYI: The Princess actress is not present with the Carriages. If you would like to have a princess actress join you at the time of your carriage booking, you can book an actress directly from one of their many party companies that provide this service. I’m not 100% sure if this will be allowed as you know we’re in the middle of a pandemic, but it’s worth sending them an email to ask.

The Cinderella carriage!

There is a usage fee of £12.95 per person to use the carriage. I think it’s worth it. The rest of The Tea Terrace is beautiful, but I think if you’re going to visit, then you might as well go all out. Book the carriage 😆 The usage fee is paid in advance at the time of booking and is non-refundable in case of cancellation.

For the usage fee, you get use of the carriage for a one hour and 15-minute time slot. When your time in the carriage is over, you can move to one of their normal tables.

Minimum spend.

There is a minimum spend requirement of £21 per person for adults or £10.95 for children under 12 years. Here is their menu.

Here is their kid’s menu.

I decided to go for the Chicken and Leek Pie, and little miss has the Ham and tomato sandwiches. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and the portions were generous too!

What made the experience great was the service! Our servers were lovely and super friendly. They also wore masks at all times.

I paid £24.14 for our meals, drinks and desserts thanks to The Eat Out To Help Out Scheme which ends today and £25.90 for the carriage. In total that’s £50.04, which is significantly cheaper than the Peppa Pig Afternoon tea we did recently.

Where is The Tea Terrace?

We went to The House of Fraser Branch in Victoria.

Address: 101 Victoria Street, 2nd floor, House of Fraser, London, SW1E 6QL

They also have a branch in Oxford Street, Guildford and Cobham. You can find more details here.

Would we go again?

Absolutely and hopefully we can book a Cinderella actress too. Little miss’ birthday is in November, so I think we will try our luck then!
