REVIEW: The Resident Kensington

AD|Press trip

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

I’m going to tell you all about our comfy stay at The Resident Kensington and all the fun family festive activities you can do in the area and nearby!

📍 19, 21 Kensington Church St, London W8 4LF

The location of this hotel is great. It’s just 5 minutes away from Earls Court station. The hotel isn’t in the congestion charge zone but many of the festive activities that I will suggest are. Please note that the hotel is in the ULEZ zone.

You can find free parking on nearby roads free after 1:30 pm on a Saturday and free all day on Sunday. Parking is normally around £3.90 an hour

When it comes to price you’ll have to do a bit of research! Hotel prices always depend on your length of stay, the time of the week you’re staying and the number of occupants. Head to the website and play around with a few dates.

What we loved about the hotel!
As mentioned before I loved the location. It has great transport links so it is quite easy to get around London.

The hotel is very stylish!

The room has very comfortable beds and a kitchenette which I’m sure many parents would find useful! There is a Nespresso machine and pods! Great for those who love their coffee.

FREE WiFi that works! The reason why we go on so many adventures is because I can take my work with me! I have to rely on a good internet connection to be able to work so this is always important whenever we have a staycation!

Contactless checkout. You don’t have to wait in a super long line to check out. You can just pop your key cards in a box and be on your way!

The staff and friendly and helpful. We didn’t need their help as we know London quite well but I did see how helpful they were to other customers who were a bit lost.

What festive things can I do nearby?

Stick Man – you can take the Piccadilly line from Earls Court to Leicester Square station. This station is a short walk to Leicester Square Theatre where the amazing Stick Man is playing until January 2022. Read our review here.

Winter Wonderland – My absolute favourite thing to do every year! It can be pricey but it’s so worth a visit! You can take the Piccadilly line from Earls Court to Hyde Park station. It’s a short walk from there.

Ice Skating at the Natural History Museum – The NHM is just 15 minutes away on foot! This is the last year of the ice rink here so it’s worth checking out!

Tootbus Christmas lights tour – You can’t come to London and not check out the Christmas lights! They’re always so beautiful! If you don’t fancy walking around then you can do a Christmas lights bus tour.

Festive afternoon tea – you could have the most festive of afternoon teas at The Lanesborough. Again, you can take the Piccadilly line straight from Earl’s Court to Hyde Park Corner!

You can, of course, take the bus or taxi to all these suggestions but I believe the underground to be the least stressful form of public transport when you have kids!

I hope you find this post helpful and let us know if you check out The Resident Kensington! I’m sure you will love it as much as we did!
