REVIEW: We stayed in Hagridd’s hideaway – North Hill Farm

Oh, I’m so excited to write this review! We had the BEST staycation!! I’ll also be writing our review of the Warner Bros studio tour here. We haven’t been since 2017 and we are loving all the updates!

So let’s begin…

North Hill Farm

📍North Hill Farm, Chorleywood, Hertfordshire, WD3 6HA

The moment I saw Hagridd’s hideaway, I knew I was going to book it no matter the cost. It’s very pricey but I saw it as an early birthday present for us both (we are winter babies 😉) I paid £220 for just 1 night. The deposit was £66. I know loads of you are going to go crazy about the price lol but for me, it was worth it! I’m a HUGE Harry Potter fan!

We were both completely in awe of the accommodation. It’s not exactly like Hagridd’s hut from the movies but it’s a really good copy.

The details were everything! You could see so much thought and effort was put into this to make it the perfect staycation for Potterheads!

I loved that they had all the DVDs ready for us to watch. The Harry Potter and The philosopher‘s Stone was even already even in the tv. Not sure if that was done on purpose but it definitely made me happy 😆 We spent the whole afternoon/evening watching the movies and taking in the atmosphere.

What’s inside Hagridd’s Hideaway?

  • A welcome letter and chocolate 😋
  • A bed, bunk bed and single bed
  • Fridge/freezer – ours had water and orange juice inside
  • Tea and coffee making facilities & snacks
  • Cutlery
  • Microwave, toaster & kettle
  • An fabulous bath!
  • Toilet and sink
  • Towels and toiletries were provided
  • A tv and the Harry Potter dvd collection

I think that’s everything. Forgive me if I’ve missed anything.

The best parts of the staycation.

  • Parking is super close by to Hagridd’s hut
  • We were right by the beautiful horses
  • it’s super close to the Warner bros studios. About 15 minutes in the car
  • The bath was fabulous!
  • I know I’ve said this already but I loved that they had all the dvds. I brought along my laptop to watch the movies just in case and I didn’t have to use it at all!
  • The beds were really comfy!

Minor inconveniences.

  • We were given 2 bbq lighters and neither of them had any lighter fluid (i think that’s what you call it lol)in them. I called and someone came along and brought us another so it wasn’t a huge deal.
  • The toaster had dirty old bread inside. I was quite annoyed by this. At £220 a night you would think every inch of the place would be spotless.
  • There was a super cool opportunity to use a quill pen but there was no ink!

I couldn’t let the bad parts outweigh the good parts though. It was a really lovely staycation and I think we will most likely do it again!

Warner Bros. Studio Tour London

Just so you know, this place is very much not in London but it’s pretty close by.

📍Studio Tour Dr, Leavesden, Watford WD25 7LR

We first went on this amazing tour back in 2017 when they just opened up the forbidden Forrest. We loved it then and we absolutely love it now! I was amazed to see how much they’ve updated it since our last visit!

It’s pricey but worth every penny in my opinion! I think only a diehard Harry Potter fan would say the same.

Tickets start from £38 pp and under 5s go completely FREE!

So this tour is amazing. It’s self-guided and you just follow the one-way system round. I would say you need around 3-4 hours to enjoy your experience and get your money’s worth!

You will learn so many interesting facts, see so many wonderful things and even have the chance to step into the actual sets. It’s truly and magical experience!

The forbidden Forrest could be potentially scary for very little ones so just be aware. Maybe even adults too haha there are huge spiders in there!

There was a super cool opportunity to have a wizard duel with actual wands at one point. I didn’t manage to get any pictures as I joined in with the fun too! You’ll find this fun experience just before the forbidden Forrest. Make sure you check it out!

Just like every other attraction out there, the food is a little bit pricey so I would recommend brining a packed lunch if you can.

You are able to push a buggy around and they also have a free cloakroom if you would like to leave it there.

There are toilets available and they have baby changing facilities too.

For me, this is a 10/10 experience and I would love to do it again in another 4 years to see what else they’ve added!

I’m a huge HP fan! What else can I do?
