REVIEW: Willows Activity Farm

AD|Press trip

Willows activity farm is one of the best activity from out there, and we have been to a few! I’m certain you’ll want to visit after reading this.

📍 Willows Activity Farm Coursers Road, London Colney, St Albans, Hertfordshire, AL4 0PF

Parking is completely FREE!

The nearest train station is St. Albans. You can also get the tube to High Barnet. Both routes will require you to get the number 84 bus after. I would suggest using an app like city mapper to help you plan your route.

Willows Activity Farm is open daily from 10am – 5.30pm.

I have to be honest and tell you this is a pricey farm in terms of admission cost. Ticket prices depend on when you go. They start from £16.95 and go up to £22.50. Under 2s are FREE and all tickets include a 50p booking fee.

On the plus side you pay for everything. There are no extra charges for the fair ground rides, bouncy castles etc.

Little miss started off the day tackling the huge Peter Rabbit puzzle. The pieces were big enough for her to complete it by herself, and she was very proud! We often do puzzles at home because it’s great for developing concentration skills and shape recognition!

Little miss then did the obstacle course. I had a go myself, and it was great fun! All these days out have made me realise how unfit I am, but it’s nice to burn a few calories while making memories with mini me.

There is a huge sand play area nearby, but we skipped it this time as I just washed little miss’ hair! Getting sand out of Afro hair is no fun!

We then went on to the inflatable area where you will see two bouncy castles and a bouncy slide (I think that’s the name) Great fun as always! Make sure you bring your socks!

You will also find some trampolines around this area. There are staff around making sure kids get a fair amount of time each activity.

Next up were the jumping pillows. These are new to Willows and great fun as always. Again, make sure you have your socks with you as these can get quite hot when the sun is out.

I almost forgot to mention this but, upon arrival you’ll receive a sheet with all the activities going on and the times. It’s also a good idea to download their app for an interactive map too. It’s a big farm but I think it’s quite easy to find what you’re looking for.

The meet and greets are back!! Socially distanced of course. Your little ones can meet their favourite Peter Rabbit characters at different times during your visit! See the activity sheet for times.

There are two outdoor play areas. The first one you’ll see is right by the entrance. You have a huge climbing frame, a zip wire, a roundabout and more.

Have a little one into JCBs? You will definitely want to check out the JCB area!

This was our second time at Willows but, this was our first time checking out the soft play. It is exclusively for members so your ticket does NOT include entry to the indoor play area however, because it wasn’t busy we were allowed in, and it did not disappoint.

There are plenty of animals to see at this wonderful farm. You will be able to see the likes of pigs, cows, goats, rabbits and more. On your activity sheet that you should get upon arrival, you will be able to see the times when you can pet some animals. You’ll also get the chance to buy some animal feed at the reception desk. The animal feed is £1 per bag.

You can check out the café or you can bring your own food as there are plenty of outdoor and indoor seating areas. We decided to eat at their café this time and this is what we got. This came to around £16 in total.

There are toilets dotted around the farm. We went to the one in the soft play and it was clean. I love when the toilets are made with children in mind!

Puddle park – there is a puddle park coming to Willows this summer holidays so we will definitely be coming back! They’re currently still working on it but I reckon it is going to be a big hit! Especially if the sun is consistent!

The Peter Rabbit playground was a huge hit with little miss. She loved the interactive musical area, the mini maze and the climbing frame! There is plenty of activities to help your little one with their imaginative play.

We ended our day with a cool tractor ride and an interactive show featuring Benjamin Rabbit. Now I know I said it’s pricey but, considering all we did in one day I would definitely say it’s worth it.

Make sure you check out the gift shop at the end! It’s full of great Peter Rabbit merch.

Willows are well known for hosting special events throughout the year and I’m hoping that we can return in October to do some pumpkin picking.
