REVIEW: Tumblestone Hollow Adventure Playground at Stonor Park, Oxfordshire

We are no strangers to Stonor Park. We visited The Wonder Woods last year and loved it so much! We just knew we had to come down and review the newly opened Tumblestone Hollow Adventure playground.

It opened to the public yesterday and unfortunately, tickets for Easter are now sold out! It’s very important to watch my Instagram stories so you don’t miss out on great events! You can, of course book now if you want to visit later in April or the rest of the year.

Address: Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, RG9 6HF

From Hammersmith, it will take out around 1 hour by car. Parking is included within the ticket price for Tumblestone Hollow guests.

The nearest railway station is Henley-on-Thames and taxis are available from the Station.

Opening Times:

Open every day from 10 am to 5 pm. You can pre-book your tickets here. Your ticket allows you access to the playground for a maximum of three hours.

Is Tumblestone Hollow worth the visit?

YES! It’s wonderful, and little miss had a brilliant time exploring the new playground. It’s designed for children and families to play together. I was up there having a blast too!

The new playground joins up with the existing one, and it works! I thought the two would be separate before arriving. It’s the playground of dreams! Slides, climbing walls, ladders, rope bridges! You name it! There’s no way a child could visit and say that they’re bored!

As mentioned on IG, it’s a lovely alternative to BeWILDerwood for those who don’t fancy the 3-hour drive.

Tumblestone Hollow (much like BeWILDerwood) is themed around a fairytale, “The Legend of Tumblestone Hollow.” We haven’t had the chance to read it, but it’s something I might buy the next time we visit.

As it’s outdoors, remember to wear the appropriate clothes. I would suggest getting your little ones to wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and definitely bring a spare change of clothes because there is water and sand!

I thought it would be a good idea to mention that it’s not buggy friendly. Can you push a buggy around? Yes. Will you struggle pushing it around? Most likely!

We also had the chance to do the Easter egg hunt and it was a lot of fun! It was well thought out, and the decor made it that extra bit special! Your little ones will get a chocolate treat at the end.

What did little miss think?

I liked going on the slides and making new friends. I liked going on the zip wire and going on the slide many times. The slide is my favourite thing. I finally did the big slide and it was so so so fun.

Toilets

They’re open and they’re clean!! The best toilets I’ve seen on a day out 😆

Food

Bring a picnic as there are plenty of spaces where you can sit down and have a bite to eat. I did notice that they were selling wood fire pizza, and the prices start from £7.50. They were also selling Churros.

There’s no doubt in my mind that we will be back! We are loving the new update!

Don’t forget to check out our IG highlight for more pictures and videos, and don’t forget to tag us in your social posts if you visit 🙂

This is absolutely NOTHING like bewilderwood and to compare it is completely unfair..my experience of tumblestone hollow is a wooden climbing frame up on a steep hill, where unless your kids are really adventurous they will need parents to play with them. Bewilderwood is a theme park with lots of different climbing and play equipment, this is like a slightly larger than average park. I only came here as we were going to the circus that day, if I’d have made special arrangements to come just for tumblestone hollow I would’ve been sorely disappointed
