REVIEW: YOTEL London Clerkenwell

AD|Press trip

We were kindly invited to check out Yotel, and we loved our stay. I had one of the best night’s sleep ever, and little miss loved sleeping on a bunk bed for the first time.

Address.

96-100 Clerkenwell Rd, Farringdon, London EC1M 5RJ. It’s only a 3-minute walk from Farringdon station. It’s a fantastic location as there transport links are great plus there’s a lot to do in the area that I will talk about further down.

Our room.

Ours was so simple and stylish and very clean. The beds were a decent size, there’s a lovely walk-in shower, a heated towel rack, a fridge, a mirror that lights up, a smart tv that also lights up and even changes colour and more!

It was good to see that our remotes were bagged with a sign saying they were “COVID clean.” I’ve been to some hotels (before the pandemic) where the remotes were utterly filthy. I love that, that wasn’t an issue here. I can genuinely say our room was spotless!

Food.

We had a bite to eat at their restaurant Komyuniti which is beautiful! You can see their menu here. Here’s what we had:

I had the BBQ crispy chicken, Bao. Steamed bao bun, crispy chicken in BBQ sauce, Asian slaw, coriander. This cost £9.50

It was okay and not something that I’m used to. It’s nice to try new things, but I don’t think I would have it again. I also had two very flat diet cokes. The waiter assured me he has just opened them and I, of course, believe him but for some strange reason, there was just no fizz! There’s nothing I hate more than a flat drink!

Little miss had the kids mini crispy chicken bites with chips. The portion was good, but she said the chicken was too salty. This cost £5.50.

Breakfast.

Here are your breakfast options. Like most hotels, it’s a grab and go style. You’re welcome to eat in the restaurant or take it away to your room.

If you have read our previous staycation posts then you know we’re not big fans of this style of breakfast, but we know this is the new normal now, so we just have to adapt. Little miss did say she loved the hot chocolate 🙂

What did we do?

Absolutely nothing 🤣 and I’m so happy about that. We RELAXED! I think this is something we will do once a month now. Just go to a hotel and unwind. No special days out! It’s nice just to do nothing sometimes. I brought along our NowTV stick, and we watched some Halloween movies before drifting off to sleep. It was the most comfortable sleep I have ever had btw! The beds are simply amazing and the pillows!

Pizza Express – a 12 minute walk away.

Oxford street – a 30 minute walk away or take the 55 bus. The Christmas lights switch-on next week!

Would we come back?

Without a shadow of a doubt. We loved just staying in a new calm environment and doing absolutely nothing! We’re lucky to live relatively close to this location too, so it wasn’t an effort to get to.

We’re looking forward to our next Yotel stay!
