REVIEW: Electric Gamebox – a hyper-immersive adventure

AD|Press trip

Today we visited Electric Gamebox and oh my! It was so much FUN!

What is it?

Electric Gamebox invites you to step into the Playbox. Enter an interactive digital room featuring projection mapping, touch screens, motion tracking, and surround sound to enjoy a hyper-immersive 60-minute adventure. Whether you’re being graded by aliens, searching for rare martian minerals or saving the queen’s corgis, at Electric Gamebox, we bring people together through shared play with a mission to make IRL screen time social again.

How much?

Prices start from £9. They have peak and off-peak pricing, so the amount will change depending on when you want to visit! Each location has different pricing too.

Where can I book?

You can book here.

At the moment, there are three different locations:

We went to the Southbank location: Scoresby St, Arch 3, 83 Scoresby Street, Southwark, SE1 0XN

It’s a great location as there are plenty of transport links. There’s also a Nando’s around the corner if you fancy making a day of it 🙂

This was honestly one of the best activities we have ever done. It went beyond my expectations. It felt like we were inside a video game without the use of VR. I do like a bit of VR, but those headsets can get really annoying! This was so much better!

It’s super interactive, and you will be using a lot of energy. Trust me! The games are so much fun! Even the more challenging levels.

There are currently five different adventures on the website. We did Alien Aptitude Test: London. Some parts were hard, and some were a little easy. But all of it was fun! We got to play four mini-games, and I think our favourite was the Pac-Man style game.

So as mentioned above, there is no bulky VR gear. Just a light, high-tech visor worn like a hat. These are cleaned after each session.

It’s recommended for children 8+. As you know, little miss is four, and I think she did a pretty good job. Some parts were a little bit hard for her, but they were hard for me too 😆 I definitely would not recommend this activity for any child under the age of four.

Need to know.

  • Bookings can be amended to another date or cancelled up to 24 hours in advance of the session start time. Within 24 hours, please contact at help@electricgamebox.com.
  • Tickets are available on the door as well as online. Availability cannot be guaranteed.
  • There are lockers available free of charge.
  • There are toilets available.
  • You do not need to wear a mask inside your Gamebox

I am totally booking again but most likely with some friends. It’s a great activity for us big kids too! 🙂
