You don’t have to jump on a plane to Disneyland Paris or Walt Disney World to experience a little Disney magic!
Obviously, nothing quite compares to actually being in the Disney Parks, but there are SO many ways to get your Disney fix right here in London.
From stepping inside life sized Pixar worlds and seeing Disney characters on ice to West End shows, Disney shopping and completely FREE Disney pop ups, there’s actually a lot more Disney magic in London than you might think.
Some experiences are permanent while others pop up for just a few days, so here are some of the best ways to experience Disney magic without leaving London.
Mundo Pixar London
If you want to feel like you’ve actually stepped inside some of your favourite Pixar films, Mundo Pixar London is definitely one to add to your list.
Located at Wembley Park, this huge immersive experience lets you walk through life sized recreations inspired by some of Pixar’s biggest films.
You’ll find rooms and areas inspired by Toy Story, Monsters, Inc., Cars, Up, Ratatouille, Finding Nemo, Inside Out and Coco, with loads of brilliant details and photo opportunities along the way.
The London experience also includes Sunnyside Daycare from Toy Story 3, which is exclusive to the UK experience.
You definitely don’t have to be a child to enjoy this one either. If you grew up watching Pixar films, there’s so much nostalgia!
Mundo Pixar London has currently been extended until 1 November 2026.
Location: Wembley Park, London
Nearest station: Wembley Park
Open the Disney Store and Get the Special Key
Did you know you can actually OPEN the Disney Store?!
This is such a cute bit of Disney magic that a lot of people don’t know about. You need to be the first person in line when the Disney Store opens, so I’d recommend getting there early if you want to try it.
The first guest gets to take part in the special opening ceremony and officially open the Disney Store, and you even get a special Disney Store key to take home as a souvenir!
We’ve done this ourselves and it’s such a lovely little experience, especially if you have a Disney fan in the family.
Obviously, I’d always recommend checking with the store beforehand as procedures can change, but if it’s something you want to do, getting there early and being FIRST in line is the important bit!
See Disney On Ice
Disney On Ice is one of our favourite ways to experience some Disney magic without actually heading to the parks.
The shows bring together loads of Disney characters, brilliant costumes, music, ice skating and stories from different Disney films, so it’s a really fun one for families.
If you’re in London, it’s worth knowing that Disney On Ice often comes to The O2 around Christmas and New Year.
We’ve also seen Disney On Ice return to London the following spring, usually around March, with shows at Wembley Arena. However, dates, venues and schedules can change from year to year, so I’d always recommend checking the official Disney On Ice website to see which London dates are coming up next.
This is actually a really good way to get two completely different Disney On Ice experiences within a few months of each other, as the touring shows can change too.
Look Out for FREE Disney Pop Ups in London
This is probably one of my favourite tips on this entire list because Disney regularly brings temporary pop ups and special experiences to London and some of them are completely FREE!
The only problem is that they can sometimes be around for a really short amount of time, so if you don’t know about them, they’re very easy to miss.
We’ve been lucky enough to experience quite a few over the years.
One brilliant example was the FREE Moana experience at Potters Fields Park, which had some amazing themed installations including Moana’s canoe and a huge Maui hook alongside activities and entertainment.
We’ve also had Toy Story themed Disney pop ups at Westfield. These are exactly the type of events I mean when I say that you never really know when a little bit of Disney magic is going to suddenly appear in London!
But one of the BEST temporary Disney experiences we’ve done in London was an Inside Out themed sleepover a couple of years ago.
This one was SO good!
We got the chance to actually sleep over as part of an Inside Out themed experience for just £15. The whole experience was themed around the film and we even got to watch the movie as part of the sleepover.
For £15, it was such a cool and unusual Disney experience and exactly why I always say to keep an eye out for these temporary events.
You genuinely never know what Disney is going to bring to London next. It could be a FREE pop up, a new film activation, an immersive experience, a themed sleepover, a temporary Disney Store or something completely different.
A lot of these experiences are linked to new Disney and Pixar film releases too, so whenever a big new movie is coming out, it’s definitely worth keeping an eye out for anything happening in London.
I’m ALWAYS on the lookout for things like this, especially the free ones, so make sure you’re following Kiddo Adventures because I’ll share them whenever I find them!
Enjoy a Disney Princess Afternoon Tea
Did you know you can enjoy a Disney Princess themed afternoon tea right here in London?
The Disney Princess Afternoon Tea at Park Corner Brasserie at London Hilton on Park Lane is another lovely way to experience a little Disney magic without leaving London.
The afternoon tea is inspired by some of Disney’s much loved Princess stories, with themed sweet and savoury treats that make this a really cute experience for Disney fans and families.
It’s a great one to add to a Disney themed day in London, especially for a birthday, special occasion or simply if you have a Disney Princess fan in the family.
As always, make sure you check the latest menu, prices and availability before visiting as these can change.
Location: Park Corner Brasserie, London Hilton on Park Lane, 22 Park Lane, London W1K 1BE
Nearest station: Hyde Park Corner
Experience Disney Films With a Live Orchestra
Another great way to experience Disney magic in London is to look out for Disney films accompanied by a live orchestra.
Different London venues host special screenings throughout the year where you can watch a Disney film on a huge screen while an orchestra performs the soundtrack live.
Different films come and go, and there are often extra events around Christmas, so it’s worth checking what’s coming up.
See a Disney Musical or Immersive Show in London
London is actually one of the BEST places to experience Disney outside of the parks, especially when it comes to musicals, theatre and immersive experiences.
There’s usually something Disney related happening in London, whether it’s a long running West End musical, a limited time production or a completely immersive experience where you can actually step inside the story.
Disney’s The Lion King
Of course, we HAVE to start with The Lion King!
Disney’s The Lion King has been running in London’s West End since 1999, so it has now been entertaining London audiences for more than 25 years!
You’ll find it at the Lyceum Theatre, and even if you’ve watched the Disney film a million times, seeing it brought to life on stage is a completely different experience.
The costumes, puppetry, music and attention to detail are incredible. It’s one of those Disney experiences that has become such a huge part of London that it’s easy to forget just how special it is.
Location: Lyceum Theatre, Wellington Street, London
Disney’s High School Musical Is Coming to Wembley
We’re all in this together!
If you grew up watching High School Musical, you’ll definitely want to know about this one.
Disney’s High School Musical is coming to the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre from 12 October 2026 until 3 January 2027 as part of the 20th anniversary celebrations for the original Disney Channel movie.
You’ll be able to see Troy, Gabriella and the students of East High brought to life on stage, complete with the songs that made High School Musical such a HUGE Disney hit.
It’s another brilliant example of how you can get your Disney fix right here in London without having to visit the parks.
Location: Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre
Dates: 12 October 2026 to 3 January 2027
Secret Cinema Presents Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean
Now THIS sounds incredible!
Secret Cinema is bringing Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: The Immersive Adventure to London in 2027.
Rather than simply sitting down and watching a show, this is designed to put you INSIDE the world of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.
Expect huge immersive sets, live theatrical performances, stunts, special effects and a live band, with guests able to explore the world and become part of the adventure.
It’s also pretty special because this is the first time Pirates of the Caribbean has been turned into a fully immersive theatrical experience like this.
The experience is coming to Secret Cinema’s new venue on Greenwich Peninsula for a limited run from February 2027.
One important thing for families to know is that age restrictions vary depending on the performance, so definitely check before booking with children.
Location: Greenwich Peninsula, London
Opening: February 2027
Disney Musicals We’ve Previously Had in London
The Lion King might be the Disney musical that has really stood the test of time in London, but we’ve been lucky enough to have SO many other Disney productions here over the years.
We’ve previously had Disney’s Aladdin in the West End, Frozen the Musical at Theatre Royal Drury Lane and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast has also returned to London as part of its UK tour.
This is why it’s always worth keeping an eye on what Disney has coming to London next.
A show might only be here for a limited time, while another could end up becoming part of the West End for years!
Whether it’s The Lion King, High School Musical, Pirates of the Caribbean or whatever Disney decides to bring to London next, theatre and immersive experiences are definitely one of the best ways to experience a little Disney magic without leaving London.
Disney Experiences Outside London
Okay, so this guide is technically about experiencing Disney magic in London, BUT there are some pretty amazing Disney experiences happening elsewhere in the UK that are definitely worth knowing about too!
If you don’t mind travelling a little further, here are a couple to add to your list.
Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Light Trail
This one looks SO good!
For the first time ever in the UK, Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Light Trail is coming to Arley Hall & Gardens in Cheshire.
It’s not actually in Manchester, but it’s around 45 minutes away, so this could be a really fun one to combine with a Manchester trip.
The experience runs from 22 October 2026 until 3 January 2027 and transforms the grounds of Arley Hall into the worlds of Halloween Town and Christmas Town.
There will be more than 1,700 light installations alongside interactive video projections, music, LED lighting and 3D sculptures bringing characters and scenes from The Nightmare Before Christmas to life.
The experience has already appeared internationally, but this is its first EVER UK run.
If you’re a Jack Skellington, Sally or Nightmare Before Christmas fan, this is definitely one to have on your radar for Halloween and Christmas 2026.
Location: Arley Hall & Gardens, Cheshire
Dates: 22 October 2026 to 3 January 2027
See Life Size Disney and Pixar Cars at Beaulieu
Cars fans, you need to know about this one!
Head to Beaulieu in the New Forest, Hampshire and you can currently see life size models of Lightning McQueen, Jackson Storm and Finn McMissile as part of a special Disney and Pixar Cars 20th anniversary display.
And yes, they’re LIFE SIZE!
The display is at Beaulieu, home of the National Motor Museum, and runs from 29 June until 1 November 2026.
As well as getting up close to the Cars characters, there are themed props including the Piston Cup, a winner’s podium where you can grab some photos and a children’s racing game experience.
It’s all celebrating 20 years since the original Disney and Pixar Cars movie was released in 2006.
The Cars display is included as part of admission to Beaulieu, which means you can make a whole family day out of it and explore the National Motor Museum and the other attractions while you’re there too.
Location: Beaulieu, New Forest, Hampshire
Dates: 29 June to 1 November 2026
Can You Experience Disney Magic in London?
Absolutely!
Of course, London isn’t going to replace walking down Main Street, U.S.A., seeing Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Paris or standing in front of Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World.
But if a Disney holiday isn’t on the cards right now, there are still loads of ways to get your Disney fix without leaving London.
You can step inside the world of Pixar at Mundo Pixar, watch Disney characters perform at Disney On Ice, see The Lion King in the West End, shop for Disney merchandise and keep an eye out for the amazing temporary Disney experiences that appear throughout the year.
And as some of our previous experiences have shown, you don’t necessarily need to spend loads of money either. Some of the best Disney pop ups we’ve experienced in London have been completely FREE!
Make sure you’re following Kiddo Adventures because whenever I find a new Disney experience, pop up or freebie in London, you KNOW I’ll be sharing it!
