REVIEW: 5 Reasons To Visit Colchester Zoo

AD|Press trip

We recently went to Colchester Zoo, and we had the most fantastic time. Here are five reasons why I think you would love it too!

1. It’s HUGE!

Yep, Colchester Zoo is massive, which means there’s so much to see and do that you can spend the entire day there and not be bored! There is a range of beautiful animals to see that your family will love—orangutans, Elephants, Zebras, and so much more. You will not be disappointed.

2. Play areas.

Kids just loved a good play area, don’t they? There are five at Colchester Zoo, so your kids will be thrilled! 4 of the play areas are outdoor, and one is indoor soft play. At this one, my in time, the soft play is still currently closed.

3. You can feed the animals.

We paid just £1 to feed the Lorikeets. Little missed loved the experience! There are opportunities to feed the bigger animals too, but you will have to pay for that in advance. For just a £20.00 donation to the Zoo’s Operating Fund, up to 5 people can participate in a short but lovely feeding experience with their elephants or giraffes. More info can be found here.

4. There are friendly staff all around.

Little Miss is getting to the age where she has a million and one questions, so it’s nice to have staff around that will listen and answer them. She learned a lot during our visit and is now considering being a zoo kept for a living 😆

5. The Elephants

They are our favourite, and they’re just simply amazing creatures! This is one of the closest zoos to London that have them, so it’s definitely worth the trip just to them!
