REVIEW: iFLY – Basingstoke

A few weeks back, I was browsing the Tesco Clubcard app, checking out the rewards section and came across iFLY an indoor sky diving experience. I found out children as young as three can fly, so I just knew I had to take little miss!

iFLY have 3 locations Basingstoke, Manchester and Milton Keynes. MK and Basingstoke are both very close to London, but I decided to head to Basingstoke today.

Address.

Basingstoke Leisure Park, Euskirchen Way, Basingstoke RG22 6PG

Parking is free with no limits.

Opening times.

At present, their operational times vary by location, and so they do advise that you contact them at support@iFLYworld.co.uk for specific information.

Price.

The price depends on the package you choose. I decided to go for the Kick start package, and that starts from £39.99. More details below.

Tesco Clubcard points.

The main reason why I shop in Tesco is for the points! You spend, and you get points back. When you have enough points, you can turn them into vouchers for money off certain attractions, including iFLY. Unfortunately, I only had £4.50 to spend 😆 , so I used my points for the superhero flight suit, which is £5.

Reschedule Plus.

With Reschedule Plus (£1.50 per package) you can reschedule your booking at no extra cost (usually £6 per package) up to 48 hours before your flight date. I think it’s worth it considering we’re still living in uncertain times.

Photos and videos.

You can take your own, or you can purchase them at the time of booking or on the day. They have numerous options. Prices start from £9.

The experience.

We arrived 30 minutes before little miss’ flight, and we both had our temperature checked upon arrival! I had to wear a mask. Little miss did not have to wear one. You can take your mask off when you put on all your flight gear.

A few days before your flight, you will be sent an email where you can get access to the training video, and you will also have to sign a waiver. Your instructor will go over the essential parts on the day.

Then it’s time to put on your important fly gear. This includes your suit, helmet, goggles and earplugs. There’s hand sanitiser around, and you’re encouraged to use it as often as you need. You will most likely be with other families, but it’s very easy to keep your distance.

It’s then time to fly. I watched little miss from the viewing area, and I think I was more nervous than her. She was fearless and I was very impressed with her! She did say she didn’t like the wind in her mouth, but that’s because she wouldn’t close her mouth for some reason 🤣 other than that I know she really enjoyed it! I loved how sweet her instructor was towards her too!

At the end of your experience, you take off all your gear and put them in hampers ready to be washed!

You are then able to get some feedback from your instructor. Next head back downstairs to view your pictures and video. As mentioned above, you can purchase them at the time of booking or on the day.

You will also have a certificate emailed to you like this.

Would we do it again?

Yes and I think I’ll be as brave as little miss and join her next time!
