There is a magical new Peter Pan experience that has just opened at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, and we travelled all the way from London to check it out!
Neverland: An Indoor Peter Pan Experience is a beautiful indoor immersive experience inspired by the classic story of Peter Pan. With enchanting rooms, magical lighting, interactive elements and plenty of photo opportunities, it’s a lovely way to step into the world of Neverland. But is it worth travelling from London for, what ages is it best suited to, and is it worth the ticket price? Here’s our honest review!
What is Neverland: An Indoor Peter Pan Experience?
Neverland is a new indoor Peter Pan immersive experience taking place at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery from 25 October 2026 until 3 January 2027. The attraction brings the magical world of Neverland to life through beautifully designed rooms, imaginative scenery, interactive elements and displays inspired by the much-loved children’s story.
Unlike a traditional theatre show, this is a walk-through experience where families can explore the different rooms and enjoy the magical surroundings at their own pace. It’s designed for all ages, although I personally think younger children will get the most enjoyment from it.

Our experience visiting Neverland: An Indoor Peter Pan Experience
We travelled from London to Birmingham to visit Neverland, and I genuinely thought it was such a beautifully designed experience! The attention to detail throughout was lovely, and you can really see how much effort has gone into creating the different environments.
Each room has its own magical atmosphere, with gorgeous scenery, lighting and plenty of lovely photo opportunities. I particularly liked how immersive everything felt, and there were interactive elements along the way to make it more engaging for children.
One thing I would definitely recommend is taking your time. It’s easy to walk through the different rooms quite quickly, but I think you’ll appreciate the experience much more if you stop, explore and take in all the little details. There are some really beautiful areas, so make sure you have your phone ready for photos!

What age is Neverland Birmingham best suited for?
Although Neverland is officially suitable for all ages, I personally think it’s best suited to children under five. You could definitely push that to around ten, especially if they love Peter Pan, fairies, magical stories or immersive experiences.
I think it’s important to have realistic expectations, particularly if you’re visiting with older children. This isn’t a huge attraction packed with physical activities or rides. It’s a gentler experience that focuses more on the magical surroundings, storytelling and exploring the different rooms.
Younger children will probably appreciate the fairy-tale atmosphere the most, although older children who enjoy immersive attractions and photography could still have a lovely time.
How long does Neverland Birmingham take?
The experience is advertised as lasting approximately 45 minutes, but I do think it’s worth mentioning that you could easily finish much quicker if you rush through.
My advice would be to slow down, explore each room properly, enjoy the interactive elements and take plenty of photos. I think that’s how you’ll get the most out of your visit.
It’s not an attraction where you’ll necessarily spend hours, so I’d recommend keeping that in mind when planning your day.

Is Neverland Birmingham worth travelling from London for?
We travelled from London to Birmingham, so I think this is an important question for anyone considering making a similar journey.
Personally, I wouldn’t necessarily travel all the way from London just for Neverland, simply because it’s quite a short experience. However, if you’re planning a family day out in Birmingham, I think it’s definitely worth adding to your itinerary!
Birmingham has plenty of other things to see and do, so you could easily combine Neverland with some shopping, another attraction or somewhere nice to eat.
It’s also really conveniently located. We walked from Birmingham New Street station, and it was only a short walk away, which made getting there really straightforward.
How much are Neverland Birmingham tickets?
Tickets start from £8, with prices varying depending on the date, time and ticket category. The attraction offers different pricing for adults and children, with selected dates costing more during busier periods.
Children aged two and under can attend free of charge, and advance booking is recommended, particularly during school holidays and weekends.
One lovely detail is that £1 from every ticket sold supports Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, which has a special connection to Peter Pan after author J.M. Barrie gifted the rights to the story to the hospital in 1929.

Where is Neverland Birmingham located?
Neverland takes place at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, Chamberlain Square, Birmingham, B3 3DH.
The attraction is right in Birmingham city centre, making it easy to reach by public transport. Birmingham New Street station is nearby, and we found it really straightforward to walk there.
If you’re travelling from London by train, it’s a convenient attraction to include in a Birmingham day trip without needing to travel far once you arrive.
Is Neverland Birmingham accessible?
Neverland is designed to welcome visitors of different ages and abilities. The venue offers wheelchair access, and pushchairs are permitted, although visitors may be asked to use a designated pushchair parking area during particularly busy periods.
If you’re visiting with someone who has additional accessibility requirements, it’s worth checking the latest information before booking.
Is Neverland Birmingham worth the money?
I think Neverland is a really lovely experience, especially for families with younger children who enjoy magical attractions.
The scenery is beautifully designed, the immersive rooms are gorgeous, and there are plenty of opportunities to capture some lovely memories.
However, I do think the duration is something to consider. If you rush through, you might feel like it’s over quite quickly, which is why I’d recommend taking your time and making the most of everything.
For families with younger children, I think it could be a really special little experience, particularly if they’re already familiar with Peter Pan.
