The Best Paddington Movie Yet? Paddington in Peru REVIEW

We were lucky enough to attend an exclusive preview of the new Paddington movie at the Odeon in Leicester Square, and I have to say, it’s the best in the franchise yet. Paddington is back on the big screen with a heart-warming adventure that truly captures the magic of family and friendship.

I may or may not have shed a tear over our favourite animated bear! This 106-minute masterpiece is an absolute must-watch, whether you’re an adult, a child, or a bear.

A little heads-up: I’ll be sharing a few spoilers ahead.

In Paddington in Peru, our favourite bear receives a heartfelt letter in the post from one of the nuns at the Home for Retired Bears, hinting that Aunt Lucy has been acting a bit strange and might just need a visit from her beloved nephew. Without hesitation, the Browns see this as the perfect chance to explore Peru together as a family and support Paddington in reconnecting with Aunt Lucy.

What follows is a hilarious, adventure-packed journey as they embark on a mission to find her. Along the way, we get to learn more about Paddington’s past, his family, and what makes him the loveable bear we all adore. And, in true Paddington fashion, there’s a villain lurking in the background, though they may not be so easy to spot at first! This film is filled with surprises, humour, and heart, making it a fantastic addition to the franchise.

The BBFC has given Paddington in Peru a PG rating for “mild threat,” but honestly, there’s nothing here to worry about. This film is pure family fun that everyone will love! And here’s a tip: be sure to stay in the cinema until the lights come up—there’s a little bonus scene at the end that you won’t want to miss.

I truly hope they continue to make these Paddington films. I’d love to see a fourth, fifth, and even sixth movie—keep them coming! Paddington, the nation’s favourite bear, just gets better with every adventure.

If you’re a big Paddington fan, don’t miss the Paddington Bear experience on Southbank. I’ve already reviewed it, and you can check out my full thoughts here. It was fantastic from start to finish, and I can’t recommend it enough. And, if you’re planning a cinema trip, be sure to check out my post with tips on saving money at the movies!
