Ways to Save Money on Cinema Tickets in the UK

Going to the cinema is one of the easiest family days out or date night ideas, but the cost can quickly add up. The good news is that there are plenty of ways to get cheap cinema tickets in the UK if you know where to look.

Whether you are planning a family trip during the school holidays or just want a low-cost evening out, these tips will help you save money every time you go.

Best Ways to Get Cheap Cinema Tickets

Amazon Prime cinema tickets

If you have an Amazon Prime membership, you can access a great ODEON deal. Members can buy two standard tickets for £10 or two recliner tickets for £15 at ODEON Luxe cinemas.

This offer runs Monday to Thursday and can be used once per month, making it ideal for midweek trips.

Fever App cinema deals

The Fever app regularly offers discounted cinema tickets, sometimes from as little as £3.99. Availability varies, so it is always worth checking before booking elsewhere.

myODEON Saver tickets

ODEON’s Saver tickets are available on selected screenings Tuesday to Sunday, as well as all day on Member Mondays, with prices starting from around £5.

Barbican Pay What You Can screenings

Every Friday, the Barbican offers selected new release screenings on a “Pay What You Can” basis, making it one of the most flexible cinema options in London.

Tastecard cinema discounts

Tastecard members can get up to 40% off cinema tickets at selected cinemas. Free trials are often available, so it is worth trying.

Kids Pass cinema offers

Kids Pass is a great app for families, offering a range of cinema discounts across major chains.

O2 Priority cinema deals

O2 Priority offers two Vue tickets for £9, plus 20% off food and non-alcoholic drinks. Codes are released weekly, and the offer is also available to Virgin Media customers.

Three+ cinema tickets

Three customers can get £3 cinema tickets at Cineworld and Picturehouse once a week via the Three+ app.

Vodafone cinema offer

Vodafone customers have previously been able to access two Vue tickets for £7. It is worth checking the app for current offers.

Groupon and Wowcher cinema deals

Groupon and Wowcher often feature discounted cinema tickets for chains like Vue, ODEON and Cineworld. I always share these to my Instagram stories whenever I come across them.

Tesco Clubcard

You can stretch your Tesco Clubcard vouchers further by using them on cinema tickets instead of spending them in-store. When exchanged for Cineworld or Picturehouse codes, the value is doubled, so 50p in vouchers becomes £1 to put towards tickets.

There is an extra saving available on Tuesdays at Cineworld, where tickets drop to £5 for Clubcard users. That means you would only need £2.50 in vouchers to book, making it one of the cheapest ways to plan a cinema trip.

Uber One cinema perks

Uber One members can enter monthly draws to win two ODEON cinema tickets for standard 2D screenings.

Meerkat Movies

By purchasing a qualifying product through Compare the Market, you can unlock 2 for 1 cinema tickets every Tuesday or Wednesday for a full year.

Virgin Red rewards

Virgin Red allows you to redeem points for cinema tickets at Vue, Cineworld, Showcase and Picturehouse, starting from around 1,350 points.

If you are visiting the cinema with children, these family-friendly screenings can make a huge difference to the overall cost.

Cineworld Movies for Juniors

Cineworld’s Movies for Juniors offers tickets from just £3.99 for both adults and children. These screenings are designed specifically for families.

During school holidays, Cineworld has also been known to run £2 family film offers on selected movies, so it is worth checking their social channels.

Vue Mighty Mornings

Vue Mighty Mornings is one of the cheapest options available, with tickets from just £2.49 when booked online. Screenings run every weekend from 10am and daily during school holidays.

Babies under two can attend for free if they sit on a parent’s lap, making this a great option for families with younger children.

Picturehouse Kids’ Club and Family Tickets

Picturehouse offers weekly Kids’ Club screenings from £4.00 per ticket, as well as Family Tickets where adults pay kids’ prices when attending as a group.

They also offer Toddler Time screenings for preschool children and Watch With Baby screenings for parents with babies, both designed to create a more relaxed cinema experience.

Everyman Family Film Club

Everyman’s Family Film Club offers reduced ticket prices for adults and half-price tickets for children aged five and over.

They also run Toddler Club and Baby Club screenings, which include added extras like snacks and drinks, making it a more premium but still family-friendly option.

ODEON Kids Tickets from £1

Looking for cheap things to do with kids? ODEON Kids screenings offer family films from just £1, with adults paying kids prices too. Extras Plus members can get tickets from £0.90.
