Did you know that you can visit Butlins just for the day?
A day pass allows you to visit Minehead, Skegness, and Bognor Regis for the day. Prices vary by location, so see the Butlins website’s day visits section for more information.
I’m going to write about our visit to Butlins Bognor Regis, as that’s the location we visited over the weekend.
Normally, I travel from Clapham Junction to Bognor Regis via rail. It’s a good idea to buy a family and friends railcard to get a discount. Get 1/3 off train travel for adults and 60% off for kids.
Because there were no direct trains to Bognor on the weekend, I chose to drive. It took me less than 2 hours to get there from south west London.
Butlins Bognor Regis offers complimentary on-site parking for guests staying there. Day visitors can park directly across from the day visitor gate (right by the seafront).
Day visitors may arrive at 10 a.m. and must depart by 8 p.m. Last entry is 2 p.m.
What’s included in your day visit.
- Unlimited rides in their Traditional Fairground and Little Stars Fairground
- Access to the huge Splash Waterworld, featuring flumes and rapids
- Brilliant live daytime shows in the indoor Skyline Pavilion
- Access to the soft play areas (subject to availability), outdoor play areas and arcades
- Access to the bars and restaurants
- A range of activities on the resort (bookable once on the resort at the leisure hub, not through the Butlin’s app, subject to availability)
And if you book a break during your day visit, they’ll deduct the price of your visit.
Top tips for a Butlins day visit
- Go swimming first – no one wants to spend a journey home wet! If you’re lucky enough to get good weather like we did then the sun will help you dry off. Also make sure you have a pound for the lockers
- Check out the fairgrounds next – great way to dry off. They also sell the most amazing donuts there.
- Download the Butlins app for an interactive map and to check show/meet and greet timings
- Pace yourself. You’re most likely going to want to cram in as much as you can but just make sure you’re having fun! That’s the most important part!
- Take out cash beforehand to save yourself £1.25
