We love the Christmas lights in London. We usually walk around and see them every year, but this year we decided to check out a Christmas bus tour.
There are a few to choose from, but we wanted to check out Tootbus (formerly The Original Tour), as we bought tickets for their kids’ tour in the summer and really enjoyed it.
Tickets cost £20 for adults and £12 for kids. Under 5’s are FREE! This is the price you get booking directly on the Tootbus website.

Departures are available every 30 minutes from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm from Coventry Street (in front of Shake Shack in Leicester Square).

Unfortunately, you don’t get to see all the Christmas lights in London on this tour, but it’s still worth checking out. The lights are lovely from the ground, but they are even more beautiful when you can see them up close. I love that everyone onboard gets a Santa hat too! Great way to put you in the festive mood!
The tour guide did a fab job telling us new information about the lights and also his terrible Christmas cracker jokes were very entertaining!
You can now change or cancel your ticket for FREE up to 24 hours before the tour date. Nobody wants to do an open-top bus tour in the rain, so I love that they do this. Always check the weather before booking.
Helpful info
- You can bring a buggy that you will leave on the lower deck. Just make sure it’s folded.
- It’s an open too bus but there front part is covered. You can also sit below if it’s too cold but that kind of defeats the purpose of the tour.
- Bring a blanket like we did. It’s absolutely freezing and the blanket helps!
- As I mentioned further up, check the weather before booking!
