REVIEW: Drayton Manor is AWESOME!

AD|Press trip

Today we went to Drayton Manor for the first time, and it was brilliant! We decided to go by train so I’ll have all the details for you in this post.

Address.

Drayton Manor Theme Park, Tamworth B78 3TW.

Parking for the day will cost you £6. The nearest train station is Tamworth.

Getting there.

I decided to use the train as I recently bought a family and friends railcard. With a family and friends railcard, you get 1/3 off train travel for adults and 60% off for kids. This is very important so take note! You do need to be travelling with at least one child between the ages of 5 and 15 to be eligible for the discount.

I used my Tesco Clubcard points to get my railcard for just £5. The standard price for one year is £30.

The journey from Euston to Tamworth is around 2 hours.

From Tamworth station, you can get a taxi. They have a taxi service right outside the station, or you can get an Uber. Uber is a lot cheaper but so unreliable. We got the Uber there, which was just £5, and we used Bennett’s Taxis (01827 54444) to get back, and that was £13.

You can also get the bus.

How much are tickets?

Ways to save money.

Tesco Clubcard Vouchers – use your Clubcard vouchers to get money off. Make sure you reads the TS&CS beforehand.

Adult and toddler ticket – During weekdays of school term time* an adult with a toddler aged four and under can visit the park for just £25. Simply purchase a Drayton Manor Adult and Toddler Ticket to enjoy all the toddler-friendly attractions they have to offer.

Take your child before they’re 2 – Under’s 2s go FREE!

Kidspass – Get an extra 7% off already discounted tickets using Kidspass.

What’s at Drayton Manor?

So much!! I was honestly impressed with how much they have to offer. We spent most of our time at Thomas Land and managed to do seven rides which I think is pretty good considering we didn’t spend the whole day there and that it’s half term.

Little miss said her favourite ride was “Flynn’s Fire Rescue” this is the ride where your little ones get the chance to be firefighters! Lots of WET fun to be had!

Little miss also said she enjoyed Winston’s Whistlestop tour. This is the perfect opportunity to get the best views of Thomas Land, as you’ll be high up in the sky! Kids and adults will love it!

There is nothing too scary in Thomas Land, so I think it’s excellent for five and under. You need to check the height of your kids before you even book tickets, so you’re not disappointed by height restrictions. Check out the app or the website to see the restrictions for each ride. The app is also great for telling you what rides are open and closed.

Unfortunately, there is no way to check queue times on the app. Queues were not too crazy today. I think the most we spent queueing was around 35 minutes. Make sure you bring snacks or maybe even bubbles to keep your kids entertained while they wait!

The zoo at Drayton Manor is pretty cool! You can see the likes of Flamingos, Tamarins, Meerkats, Snakes and more!

Make sure you check out the cool dinosaur trail. Dinosaur fans will love it!

Unfortunately we didn’t get to try the rides outside of Thomas Land as we ran out of time but I will update this post when I can.

You can see the full list of attractions here.

Food options.

We brought along our own food, but I did see numerous food options. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the chance to check out what they had and the prices, but I will update this when I can.

Would we go again?

YES! Little miss has an inset day in June and we’re going to use that day to go back to Drayton Manor and explore even more!
