As someone who travels regularly with my daughter, I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels over the years. Some are great, some are forgettable and then there are those rare places that genuinely stand out long after you’ve returned home.
Whether it’s because of the location, the food, the facilities or simply how they made us feel during our stay, these are five family friendly hotels around the world that I would happily recommend and stay at again.
AX Odycy Hotel, Malta
If you’re looking for a family friendly hotel in Malta, AX Odycy is definitely worth considering.
This modern seafront hotel offers stunning views across the Mediterranean and plenty to keep families entertained. One of the standout features for us was the waterpark area, which was a huge hit with children. Combined with multiple swimming pools, family friendly dining options and spacious rooms, it’s easy to see why this hotel has become so popular.
The location also makes it a great base for exploring Malta, with plenty of attractions, restaurants and boat trips nearby.
For families looking for a sunshine-filled European holiday with excellent facilities, AX Odycy ticks a lot of boxes.
Riu Ocho Rios, Jamaica
Jamaica will always hold a special place in my heart and Riu Ocho Rios is one of the resorts I often recommend to families visiting the island.
Situated on a beautiful stretch of beach, the resort offers everything you’d expect from an all inclusive Caribbean holiday. There are multiple swimming pools, a waterpark, plenty of dining options and a packed entertainment programme throughout the day and evening.
One thing I particularly enjoyed was the super fun atmosphere. Despite being a large resort, there was plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the surroundings.
Its location near many of Jamaica’s most popular attractions also makes it ideal for families wanting to combine relaxation with adventure.
Viva Miches by Wyndham, Dominican Republic
One of my most recent hotel stays was at Viva Miches by Wyndham in the Dominican Republic and it quickly became one of my favourite Caribbean resorts.
Located on a stunning stretch of beach in Miches, this all inclusive resort offers a fantastic mix of relaxation and family friendly activities. The beach is absolutely beautiful, with soft sand, clear water and plenty of sunbeds available throughout the day.
The food was one of the highlights of our stay, with a great selection of buffet and speciality restaurants. Even my incredibly picky daughter found plenty to enjoy and was surprisingly willing to try new foods during our holiday.
Families will appreciate the Kids Club, splash areas, daily activities and evening entertainment. The resort also has a handy app which makes it easy to keep track of events and plan your day.
For anyone looking for an all inclusive family resort in the Dominican Republic, this is one I’d happily recommend.
Magic Pirates Island Resort, Benidorm
If your children love themed hotels, Magic Pirates Island Resort is unlike anywhere else we’ve stayed.
Located near Benidorm, this pirate themed resort fully embraces its concept, creating an immersive experience from the moment you arrive. From themed accommodation and entertainment to pirate inspired activities, it’s designed to make children feel like they’ve stepped into their own adventure.
The resort offers plenty of family friendly facilities, including swimming pools, entertainment and activities throughout the day.
What makes this hotel stand out is how unique it feels. It’s not just a place to sleep. It’s part of the holiday experience itself.
For families looking for something a little different in Spain, this is a fantastic option.

Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek
Finding the right hotel in Orlando can be overwhelming because there are so many options, but Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek is one I would happily return to.
One of the biggest advantages is its location. Situated close to Walt Disney World, it offers easy access to the parks while still providing a relaxing resort atmosphere away from the crowds.
The resort features multiple pools, a lazy river, family friendly dining options and beautiful grounds. After long days exploring the parks, it was the perfect place to return to and unwind.
For families planning a Disney holiday, this hotel offers a great balance between convenience, comfort and value.
Final Thoughts
Every family looks for something slightly different when choosing a hotel, but these five properties are all places that genuinely impressed us during our travels.
From the beaches of Jamaica and the Dominican Republic to the theme parks of Orlando, the historic coastline of Malta and the pirate adventures of Benidorm, each hotel offers something unique for families.
