If you’re searching for a London exhibition about Ancient Egypt, this is one of the most talked-about cultural experiences currently in the city. Ramses and the Pharaohs’ Gold: The Exhibition has arrived in London after successful runs in Paris, San Francisco, Sydney and Tokyo, bringing 180 real artefacts from Ancient Egypt, many of which are more than 3,000 years old.
The exhibition is located at NEON inside Battersea Power Station and offers visitors a rare opportunity to see objects connected to one of the most powerful rulers in Egyptian history, Ramses II (Ramses the Great), who ruled Egypt for nearly seventy years.
What You Can See at Ramses and the Pharaohs’ Gold
Visitors can see a wide collection of genuine artefacts connected to Ramses II and Ancient Egyptian civilisation. One of the most significant highlights is the coffin of Ramses II, offering a rare chance to view the pharaoh’s original sarcophagus.
The exhibition also includes royal treasures from the tombs of Tanis, such as the gold funerary mask of King Amenemope and the solid silver coffin of Shoshenq II. Throughout the galleries you’ll also see beautifully preserved animal mummies and sacred amulets, which reveal Ancient Egyptian beliefs about spirituality and the afterlife.
Large colossal statues and stone heads of Ramses II and his queens are also displayed, giving visitors a sense of the scale and power of Egyptian monuments.
To enhance the experience, visitors can add an optional audio guide narrated by historian Dan Snow, or take part in an immersive virtual reality experience exploring the temples of Ramses II.

The exhibition takes place at NEON at Battersea Power Station, 2 Circus Road East, London SW11 8DQ.
It is recommended for ages 5 and over, although in my opinion it is better suited to slightly older children and adults. The venue is wheelchair accessible, but bags larger than A4 are not permitted inside.
My Honest Review
If you genuinely enjoy history or Ancient Egypt, this exhibition is fascinating. Seeing artefacts that are more than three thousand years old in person is incredible, particularly pieces that rarely leave Egypt.
However, I personally wouldn’t recommend bringing children under about 10 years old. The exhibition is quite traditional and not very interactive, so younger children may find it a little boring.
It’s much better suited to older children, teenagers or adults, especially if they are studying Ancient Egypt at school or have an upcoming project.
