REVIEW: Why Jurassic World: Rebirth Had Me Clutching My (Imaginary) Pearls

Jurassic World: Rebirth starts off quite slow—but trust me, once the action kicks in, it doesn’t let up for a second. This latest addition to the Jurassic franchise is nail-biting, emotionally charged, and truly terrifying at times. I’ve never felt so anxious watching a film, and that’s saying something!

Without giving too much away, the film introduces us to a whole new cast, so don’t expect the familiar faces from the original trilogy. Instead, we meet characters played by the brilliant Jonathan Bailey, Scarlett Johansson, and Mahershala Ali—who each bring something fresh to the story while holding their own in a world full of prehistoric danger.

Set in a world still grappling with the consequences of dinosaurs roaming free, Rebirth explores what survival looks like when humans are no longer at the top of the food chain. And yes—watching this movie made me deeply grateful that dinosaurs are extinct, because the idea of coexisting with those beasts is nothing short of terrifying.

There were moments where I genuinely clutched my (imaginary) pearls. The intensity, the pacing, and the high-stakes plot make it one of the most gripping films in the franchise. Whether it’s a chase, a confrontation, or a quiet moment of dread, Rebirth is packed with tension and spectacle.

Parental Guidance

The BBFC has given this a 12A rating, with warnings for moderate threat, violence, and language. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend it for children under 5—some scenes are genuinely scary. However, older kids, teens, and adults who love action-packed adventure will definitely enjoy it.

Tip: Watch It in 4DX!

If you want to fully immerse yourself in the chaos, watch this in 4DX. The motion seats and effects will take the tension and thrills to another level.

Bonus Dino Fun

If you’re a big fan of the franchise, I highly recommend visiting Jurassic World: The Experience at Battersea Power Station. It’s a brilliant real-world adventure where you can walk among the dinos—without the life-threatening danger!
