We’ve just returned from the most incredible holiday experience at Therme Erding in Germany—it was absolutely fantastic! In this post, I’ll share all the details on how to get there from the UK, along with my top tips and a special discount code for you to use.
I forgot to book my flights to Germany, and as a result, the prices skyrocketed, so I didn’t get a great deal this time. However, you can find cheap flights to Munich by checking Skyscanner and being flexible with your travel dates. As always, I used our Decathlon hand luggage so that the flight price didn’t go up anymore.
Munich Airport is quite large, with taxis pretty much available outside every exit. While public transport can save money, we found it easier to use a taxi, although it was a bit pricey. We took a taxi from the designated taxi area outside the airport, costing me around €50 (approximately £44). Therme Erding offers airport transfers for up to 4 people at a cost of €45 per trip when booked in advance. This convenient service can be arranged directly with them for seamless transportation to or from the airport.
We reached Therme Erding within just 30 minutes by taxi—it was a remarkably quick ride. Due to its proximity to the airport, visiting as a day trip is very feasible.
Upon arrival at reception, we were warmly greeted by friendly staff members. We arrived early in the morning and were delighted to find that our room was ready. While I was chatting with a staff member to understand how everything worked, my daughter was happily occupied with an interactive table.
I was provided with a map and these special wristbands that were quite innovative. They grant access to the spa, serve as a key card for our room, allow us to pay for food and drinks within the spa and waterpark area, and even lock and unlock our locker. It’s essential to wear it on your wrist and keep it safe throughout your visit. You will settle your bill at the end of your visit if you do buy any food and drinks.
During our stay at the on-site Hotel Victory in Therme Erding, we were delighted to see we were staying in the yacht cabin accommodation with a countryside view. Our room was equipped with an Alexa, which was convenient as I use Alexa at home for my alarm. The bathroom featured a shower, a separate toilet, we had a safe for valuables that could be accessed using the wristband—a handy feature.
In addition to these amenities, our room included a TV, bed, sofa, and a balcony designed to resemble the front part of a ship, which added a unique touch to the room’s theme. It was well-maintained, with a comfortable mattress and pillows that made our stay enjoyable.
We were fortunate to catch a quick glimpse of another room opposite ours while the cleaning staff were tidying up. This room, known as the captain’s cabin, had bunk beds shaped like boats—a feature that would surely delight any child. The themed rooms at Victory Hotel were truly impressive, and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience there.
If you’ve seen my TikTok or Instagram reel, you’ll know we had an absolutely fantastic time at Therme Erding. Some have asked me how it compares to the Aquadome at Lalandia or Tropical Island. While I enjoyed each of them for their unique experiences, Therme Erding stood out as my favourite among the three. The facility is massive, and I don’t think we even managed to explore everything. I would highly recommend planning for at least two days here to fully enjoy all it has to offer without feeling rushed.
Therme Erding is definitely suitable for the whole family. They have dedicated splash areas for toddlers and babies, along with slides in the galaxy area that are suitable for young ones and thrill-seekers alike. Swimming in general is enjoyable for everyone, regardless of age. Additionally, there are areas specifically designed for guests aged 16 and over, providing opportunities for adults to have some child-free time if needed. The water temperature in every pool is just perfect—lovely and warm. With features like crazy rivers, slides, Jacuzzi bubbles, and a wave pool, Therme Erding truly offers the ideal family day out with something for everyone to enjoy!
In response to the comments on my Instagram, I can see that many of you have questions, so I’m here to try and answer them all in one go.
