Discover the Top Ways to Save Money on Theatre Tickets In London

It’s no secret that theatre tickets can be costly, but fear not! This blog post provides valuable insights on the best ways to save money when purchasing theatre tickets.

ATG Local heroes – ATG tickets are offering a 25% discount for local heroes for selected shows. Teachers are included for once! Check this link to see who else qualifies.

Magical Mondays (formerly Disney Day Seats) – purchase seats for participating Disney Shows for £29.50 for that week’s performances. All you have to do is check out the website at 12pm (definitely be on the website just before that) every MONDAY.

Matilda £10 tickets – are you aged 16 to 25? Did you know that there will be 16 £10 tickets reserved for every Matilda performance from 1st April 2022? These will be available on the day of performance in person at the Cambridge Theatre Box Office. You must have valid ID.

My Neighbor Totoro – there are a number of offers for this show and you can find them all here.

Stagedoor Loyalty Card – We finally have a Loyalty Card for Theatregoers!
Collect stamps, get rewards! Your Stagedoor Loyalty Card is free & rewards you when booking your theatre tickets on the app. You can get £10 off your very first booking too!

Standing tickets – did you know that a few west end theatres offer standing tickets? I’ve never tried this myself but I’ve heard people say that The Lion King and Hamilton offer these rather cheap tickets. It’s worth going to the box office on the day and asking. Let me know how you get on 🙂

Wowcher/Groupon – before you book anything, you should always check Wowcher and Groupon for discounted tickets. I’ve seen some theatre tickets on both websites before. Both websites also tend to offer good deals on theatre tickets and hotels. It’s worth checking out!

Compare theatre tickets – a few years ago, I used the comparetheatretickets.com website to buy Dreamgirls tickets. I was able to compare prices and found good seats for a great price.

Theatre lottery – theatre lotteries give you the chance to buy really good and pricey seats at a reduced price. Normally you will just fill out a form online and you will be notified by email if you’ve been successful or not. Hamilton (todaytix app), Matilda and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (todaytix app) are just some of the shows I know that do this.

Seat planseatplan.com is a great website where you can review theatre seats to help other theatregoers choose the best seats. For every review submitted, you can earn 50 rewards points for a seat view photo. Once you have earned enough points, you will be able to claim a voucher!

£29.50 front row Wicked seats – yes you read that correctly! You can get front row tickets for the amazing Wicked for just £29.50! Each Wednesday at 10 AM, the entire Front Row will be released for all performances in the following week. The link to the website is here.

Official London Theatre’s New years sale – A few years ago I was able to purchase tickets to see Disney’s Aladdin in the stalls for just £10! Keep an eye on this page.

Kids week – Every year, for the whole of August, a child aged 16 or under can go to any participating show for free where tickets are available as long as they’re accompanied by a full paying adult. Adults can also buy up to two extra children’s tickets at half price and there are no booking fees. You’ll have to wait until august to check out this great deal again.

Go directly to the box office – I kind of talked about this above but going to the box office of the show you want to see is one of the best ways to save money. People have to cancel tickets last minute so you just might be able to grab a bargain.

Theatre desk – I often see great offers on the theatredesk.co.uk website. At the moment there is a great discount on The Snowman tickets so check it out! We have a special code that you can even use on offers. The code is “KIDD5” and it will give you an extra 5% off 🙂

TodayTix – what an amazing app! You need to make sure you download it and have your push notifications on! They usually do daily “rush” tickets, which are day seats that you can purchase right from your phone on the day of the performance. Rush tickets are exclusively available on the TodayTix app at 10 am each performance date.

Mrs Doubtfire – A restricted quantity of £30 day seat tickets will be available for purchase at the Shaftesbury Theatre box office from 12pm on weekdays (Monday to Friday) for the performance scheduled on the same day, subject to availability.

National Theatre – Explore exclusive ticket deals and special offers for the National Theatre right here. Uncover the best discounts and concessions available.

Back To Future: The Musical – For every performance of Back To The Future, a limited number of rush tickets priced at £29.50 will be made available exclusively through the TodayTix app, starting at 10am.
