Exploring Tots In London: A Fun-Filled Play Cafe in Deptford

For families with young children searching for fun activities in London, I highly suggest visiting Tots In London (Formerly Tots In Town). Opening on May 8th, this play cafe is conveniently located a brief stroll from Deptford and New Cross stations, as well as Vanguard Street Car Park.

Be sure to download the “PayByPhone” app as the parking facility is cashless. The app allows you to pay for parking at a rate of £2.40 per hour.

Tots In London is just a short drive away from Lewisham shopping centre, where Gootopia is located. This means that you could potentially visit both locations in one day, maximising your fun and adventure.

I’ll share what you can anticipate from your visit to Tots In London.

Tots In London operates from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, and on Saturdays from 9am to 3pm. The cost of admission is £7.50 per child, with free entry for adults and children under 1 year old. Additionally, they allow an extra accompanying adult at no additional charge.

Each play session lasts for 1 hour and 15 minutes, followed by a thorough cleaning process to reduce the spread of germs and ensure the safety of each child. After the play session, you can stay for an additional 30 minutes to sit and eat before the doors open for the next booking.

Tots In London features a mini supermarket, library, diner, surgery, and hairdresser/barber, providing something for every little one to enjoy.

Check out their menu and prices below.

Tots In London’s coffee beans are sourced from a Colombian couple, with the wife being of Colombian descent and her family owning the coffee farm where every bean is hand-picked. Unlike large companies where beans are transported between depots, this is a personal transaction, which ensures quality control and a more authentic coffee experience.

To cater to a wider customer base, they offer a gluten-free range on their menu. Additionally, they understand that some children may have allergies or prefer specific foods, so they allow customers to bring their lunches for their little ones. I have a severe nut allergy, so this is something that I truly appreciate.

Tots In London demonstrates its community-oriented approach by donating any leftover food to food banks. If they come across parents with children who cannot afford to pay, they offer a free play session, providing all children with the opportunity to enjoy the same experiences. I genuinely appreciate how Tots In Town prioritizes creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for families.

Tots In London limits the number of children per session to 10 to prevent overcrowding, allowing children to make the most of their time while minimizing the spread of germs. Additionally, they offer party bookings and exclusive hire for all children-related events. In collaboration with Lewisham Council, they hope to serve as a creative hub, providing parents with a space to have discussions while their children enjoy the playhouses.

They are also working on blocking out sessions for SEN children, providing them with a comfortable and inclusive space to play at their own pace. Tots In London‘s commitment to creating a safe and enjoyable environment for all children is truly admirable.

We spent almost two hours exploring Tots In London, and I would suggest that it is best suited for children aged five and below. Nevertheless, my seven-year-old daughter had a fantastic time, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Tots In London has an exciting lineup of events throughout the year, including pizza-making sessions, baby sensory sessions, and the chance to paint pots, t-shirts, mugs, and more. The possibilities are endless! We are eagerly anticipating our next visit, and I highly recommend booking a session.
