Our Visit
Before booking tickets, I’ll be honest — I didn’t have much interest in Viking history. However, I always think it’s good to try something new at least once, so we decided to check it out.
We booked the 9am session (we’re early birds), which meant it was really quiet and easy to move around the exhibition without crowds.
The experience takes visitors through several rooms and installations, with projections, displays and narration explaining Viking history and mythology.

What to Expect Inside
Visitors move through a series of themed areas designed to recreate Viking history and legends.
You can expect:
• Large immersive projection rooms telling Viking stories
• Replica artefacts and displays about Viking life
• A life-size Viking longship installation
• Interactive activities and displays
• A VR experience
• A children’s dress-up and colouring area at the end
There is also a small café on site if you want drinks or snacks after the exhibition.
The experience typically lasts around 90 minutes.
My Honest Review
I’ll always be honest in my reviews.
The VR experience wasn’t my favourite part. I personally found it a bit too long, and it didn’t really hold my attention the whole time.
I also wasn’t a huge fan of the audio guide element. I usually prefer walking around exhibitions at my own pace and reading information myself rather than listening through headphones.
That said, the audio narration does make the exhibition more accessible, and some visitors may prefer having the story explained as they move through the space.
There were definitely some cool moments throughout the exhibition though. The large installations and immersive projection rooms were interesting to see, and it’s clear the experience has been designed to make history feel more interactive.
For families visiting London, it’s actually quite a good option to bring kids to. There are interactive elements throughout, and the dress-up and colouring area at the end gives children something fun to do after exploring the exhibition.
Is Vikings: The Immersive Experience Worth Visiting?
Even though I wouldn’t say I left as a huge Viking fan, I’m still glad we tried it.
Trying new experiences in London is always interesting, and there were definitely parts of the exhibition that I thought were pretty cool.
If you enjoy immersive exhibitions, interactive museums or historical experiences, this is another option to add to your list of things to do in London.
