If you love London theatre as much as we do, this is one experience you might want to add to your list. The Theatreland Afternoon Tea at Homage Restaurant inside The Waldorf Hilton, London is inspired by the magic and glamour of the West End, making it a great pre-theatre treat or special London day out.
Set in one of London’s most iconic hotels, this themed afternoon tea blends classic British elegance with a theatrical twist – ideal for date nights, mother-daughter days, birthdays or a luxury treat before a show in Theatreland.

What’s on the Menu?
Here are some of the items on the menu (not all of them) – just to give you an idea of what to expect.
Savoury Selection
- Coronation chicken on charcoal bread
- Prawn & crayfish with citrus cream
- Egg & truffle with mustard cress
The scones were warm and fluffy – always a good sign. The coronation chicken was a highlight, and trying charcoal bread for the first time was something new. The prawn and crayfish sandwich was especially delicious – two of my favourites done really well. Overall, the sandwiches were a very strong start.
Sweet Treats
- Wicked green apple white chocolate dessert
- Caramel popcorn tart
- Red velvet chocolate sponge
- Vanilla & lemon scones with clotted cream and jam
The theatrical theme really comes through in the desserts, with bold colours and playful flavours that feel perfectly suited to London’s Theatreland.
Is There a Children’s Afternoon Tea?
Yes – and this is where it works beautifully for families.
The children’s version includes:
Ham sandwich Cheese sandwich Cucumber sandwich
Perfect for little ones who prefer simpler flavours. My daughter loves basic food, so I knew she would eat everything without issue. It’s reassuring when a themed afternoon tea still caters well to children.
Please note: menus may vary slightly, particularly for dietary requirements or allergies, so always check when booking.

Prices
- £59 per adult
- £40 per child
Afternoon tea is served with a selection of fine teas, with the option to upgrade to something sparkling if you’re celebrating.
Why It’s Great for Theatre Fans
Theatre is one of my favourite things in the world, so I genuinely loved the theme. The team at The Waldorf Hilton always create something special, and the staff are consistently friendly and attentive. It feels polished, relaxed and celebratory all at once.
If you’re heading to a West End show, planning a London date night, or simply looking for a family friendly afternoon tea in Covent Garden, this is such a fun option.
