Hercules Live on Stage: Disney’s Latest West End Spectacle REVIEW

Disney’s Frozen may have melted away from the West End, but there’s a brand new Disney musical in town – and it’s absolutely epic. Now playing at the iconic Theatre Royal Drury Lane, Disney’s Hercules has taken its place, bringing legendary myths, unforgettable music, and larger-than-life characters to the London stage.

We were lucky enough to catch this incredible show thanks to FREE tickets through the o2 Priority app – just one of the many amazing perks of being an o2/Virgin Media customer. With ticket prices starting from just £29.50, this spectacular new production is inspired by Disney’s much-loved animated film and the ancient Greek legend behind it. Perfect for families and Disney fans alike, Hercules the Musical delivers high-energy performances, powerful vocals, and stunning visuals that will leave you shouting “I can go the distance!”

Recommended for ages 6 and up. Please note: children under 4 cannot be admitted, and all audience members must have their own ticket and be able to sit independently for the duration of the show.

We sat in Row D of the Royal Circle, seats 35 and 36, and the view was brilliant. We could see everything clearly with no obstructions, and the seating was comfortable throughout. I’d highly recommend these seats for a perfect view of the stage. Free booster seats are available too!

The set design was absolutely fantastic — the use of huge, moving pillars and digital screens blended seamlessly with physical props to bring scenes to life in a visually striking way. I especially loved the creative methods used to showcase Hercules’ strength, which were both clever and fun to watch. One thing to note: there are a few moments with loud thunder and lightning effects. While they help create drama and atmosphere, some children might find these scenes a bit scary (even I jumped at one point!).

Early in the show, there’s an impressive dress change involving the Muses — it gave me major Frozen musical flashbacks and was just as well-executed. Speaking of the Muses, they completely steal the show. Their voices are stunning, their energy is unmatched, and they bring sass and soul to every scene they’re in. It’s hard not to fall in love with their performances.

As expected with most Disney theatre productions, merchandise is available — and yes, it’s on the pricey side. I spotted a gorgeous Loungefly Hercules bag for £85, which was genuinely beautiful and perfect for collectors. There was also a Hercules-themed mug for £25. It’s definitely a splurge, but that’s Disney for you!

While the show isn’t currently part of Disney’s Magical Mondays promotion (where selected shows like The Lion King offer day seats from £29.50 every Monday at noon), it might be included in the future, so it’s worth checking regularly if you’re on a budget but want to experience this epic musical.

Overall, Disney’s Hercules is a brilliant show that blends iconic characters, creative stagecraft, and powerful performances. It’s a strong addition to London’s West End and definitely worth booking for fans of Disney, musical theatre, and mythological adventures alike.
