If you’ve been scrolling through social media or walking down Oxford Street lately, chances are you’ve heard about the Twist Museum in London — the city’s immersive museum of illusions. With over 80 interactive exhibits and mind-bending rooms, it promises a one-of-a-kind experience. But is it really worth the ticket price? Here’s everything you need to know before you visit — including my honest review after going twice.
What is the Twist Museum?
Located in the heart of Oxford Street, Twist Museum London brands itself as a playground of the mind. It’s filled with optical illusions, immersive rooms, and interactive experiences designed to challenge your perception of reality. Highlights include: 80+ interactive exhibits exploring sound, light, heat, colour, and space, Instagrammable photo opportunities around every corner, optical illusion rooms that play tricks on your senses, designed in collaboration with artists, neuroscientists, and philosophers, and family-friendly educational activities.
I visited the Twist Museum when it first opened and again more recently, hoping it had improved over time. Unfortunately, I personally found the experience underwhelming and not worth the money.
The illusions are mildly entertaining but feel repetitive, and the space overall lacks the excitement and “wow” factor you’d expect from a £20+ attraction. While it may be a hit for young kids or first-time visitors to this type of exhibit, I didn’t find it particularly engaging.

If you’re looking for a similar experience, I’d actually recommend the Paradox Museum in Knightsbridge, which offers more interactive, polished, and enjoyable exhibits in my opinion.
