HEvery Wednesday at 10 a.m., Wicked releases 24 front-row tickets online for all performances in the following week (Tuesday to Sunday). Tickets are priced at £29.50 with no additional fees, making this an incredible opportunity to see one of London’s most popular musicals without breaking the bank.
We recently tried this out and were seated in Row A, seats 32 and 33. I thought these were brilliant seats – so close to the action, we could see every expression and detail of the costumes. Sitting right at the front does mean you might miss a bit of the back staging, and the volume can get quite intense, but it’s an experience worth trying. Being up close brings a different level of excitement and connection to the show.
My daughter dressed up as Glinda, and she got a special wave from both Elphaba and Glinda toward the end – it made the evening even more magical! I definitely recommend those front row seats. It was an unforgettable night!
As for the show itself, Wicked is simply unforgettable. It’s a prequel to The Wizard of Oz, exploring the untold story of the Wicked Witch of the West and her unlikely friendship with Glinda the Good Witch. The characters are brought to life with stunning costumes, and the music is out of this world, with songs like “Defying Gravity” that have become iconic in musical theatre. The staging is incredibly creative, transporting you into a magical world full of surprises.
Wicked is suitable for kids aged 7 and up, though younger children are welcome (no under 5s). However, keep in mind the show is nearly three hours long, so it may be a bit much for little ones. The theatre is located right opposite Victoria Station, which makes getting there straightforward and convenient. We’re so glad we got to see it again, especially with the upcoming Wicked movie release, which we’re very excited about!
