In 2021, we made Christmas Eve unforgettable by spending the day sledging at The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead. We arrived early for the first session of the day at 8:30 am, which was ideal because it wasn’t too busy. The quiet start allowed us to enjoy the snow with minimal crowds, making the whole experience even more magical.
The kid had a fantastic time sledging down the snowy slopes, and even the adults got in on the fun! Sledging at The Snow Centre is open to anyone aged 4 and above, making it a great winter activity for families with young children. Each session lasts for 30 minutes, giving you plenty of time to whizz down the slopes for just £15 per person.

We’re based in South London, and it took just over an hour by car to reach the centre. The drive from London is pretty straightforward, making it an easy day trip for families. However, if you’re planning to use public transport, it can be a bit tricky to navigate, so I recommend researching your route ahead of time to avoid any complications.
