Is Sledging at The Snow Centre Worth It? Our Full REVIEW

In 2021, we made Christmas Eve unforgettable by spending the day sledging at The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead. If you’re looking for a fun, family-friendly activity over the festive season, this is a perfect choice. We arrived early for the first session of the day at 8:30 am, which was ideal because it wasn’t too busy. The quiet start allowed us to enjoy the snow with minimal crowds, making the whole experience even more magical.

The kid had a fantastic time sledging down the snowy slopes, and even the adults got in on the fun! Sledging at The Snow Centre is open to anyone aged 4 and above, making it a great winter activity for families with young children. Each session lasts for 30 minutes, giving you plenty of time to whizz down the slopes for just £15 per person.

Before heading out, here are a few things to consider. First, The Snow Centre can get quite cold, so make sure to dress warmly. Layer up with winter clothing, and don’t forget to bring gloves! The Snow Centre provides snow boots and helmets, so you’re all set with the right gear for safety and comfort.

We’re based in South London, and it took just over an hour by car to reach the centre. The drive from London is pretty straightforward, making it an easy day trip for families. However, if you’re planning to use public transport, it can be a bit tricky to navigate, so I recommend researching your route ahead of time to avoid any complications.

If you’re dreaming of a white Christmas this year, The Snow Centre is the place to be! They offer sledging on just four key festive dates:

Christmas Eve from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm
Boxing Day from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
New Year’s Eve from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
New Year’s Day from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm

These dates offer a rare chance to experience the magic of sledging during the holidays. Make sure to book your tickets early to guarantee a spot for your family. It’s a winter adventure you won’t want to miss!
