I’m ashamed to admit that Preto has always been one of those restaurants I’ve walked past without a second thought, but after finally giving it a try, I’m thrilled to share that it’s worth a visit. Preto is a Brazilian steakhouse with locations in Shaftesbury Avenue, Victoria, Putney, Queensway, and Angel. We dined at their Shaftesbury Avenue location, perfectly situated for those taking the kids to the theatre or just exploring the vibrant West End.
From the moment we stepped inside, the experience was captivating. Each diner is given a card with a green and red side. To signal the Meat Waiters that you are ready to begin the Rodizio, you simply turn the card to the green side. When you’ve had your fill, flip the card to the red side. This ingenious system ensures a seamless flow of delectable meats, allowing you to savour each bite at your own pace.
The array of meats at Preto is simply amazing. The churrasco (Brazilian BBQ), offers a variety of grilled meats that are nothing short of spectacular. Each cut is expertly seasoned and cooked to perfection, delivering a burst of flavour with every bite. The succulent beef, juicy lamb, and tender pork are just a few of the highlights. The only thing I wasn’t willing to try was the chicken heart; I just couldn’t bring myself to do it.
Beyond the meats, Preto’s rodizio includes a selection of dishes from their hot buffet and salad bar. When you’re ready, grab a plate and customize your salad with fresh greens and veggies, creating a perfect complement to the hearty meats.
One of the great perks of dining at Preto is their generous offer for children. Kids eat free every weekday from 4 pm and all weekend, making it an excellent choice for family outings.
