Taste Film is truly fantastic! If you’re unfamiliar, let me enlighten you. It’s an immersive experience combining film watching with inspired cuisine—a captivating activity, wouldn’t you agree?
Recently, we were invited to enjoy the screening of Home Alone, and that’s precisely what we did—indulging in dishes mirroring what graced the screen. Check out the delectable menu below.
Priced at £80 per person (no discounts for kids), one might consider it a bit of a splurge. We frequently visit Cineworld in Leicester Square, the combined cost of an adult and child ticket, minus any discounts, totals £40—excluding snacks. When factoring in dinner afterward, the overall expenditure easily reaches £80 or more. Considering these figures, I believe the price is justifiable.
Now, let’s dive into the culinary ratings:
Spilt Milk (Nutmeg & Cinnamon White Russian) – pleasant, yet leaning towards the sweeter side.
Junk To The World (Fried Macaroni & Cheeseballs) – easily my favourite part, although I wished the portion sizes were more generous. I could have devoured a hundred of those.
Filthy Animal – Duck Confit & Mozzarella Flatbread – absolutely delightful. The duck truly elevated the flavors.
A special note: Any item containing alcohol had a non-alcoholic version for my daughter.
Moving on to Thirsty For More (Candy Cane Cocktail with Koko Kanu rum, cherry syrup, Prosecco & a DIY gingerbread Christmas tree) – the cocktail was a tad too sweet for my liking, but the opportunity to decorate our own gingerbreads added a lovely touch.
A Merry Little Christmas (Milk & Cookies Sundae) was simply divine—hard to imagine ever having a bad sundae.
Throughout the movie, the food and drinks were served at different intervals. Initially, I thought the constant presence of waitstaff might be bothersome, but their swift and efficient service made them nearly invisible. Kudos to them for their great work.
Extra bonus points go to Taste Film for offering a nut-free menu. While I adore the experience, I’d caution against it for picky eaters, as it might result in wasting your money. The menu is released beforehand, allowing you to preview before booking. Tickets vanish quickly, just like trying to score Beyoncé concert tickets, so follow them on socials for timely updates.
I’m genuinely excited to relive this experience. Ratatouille is high on my list, and I believe something like The Princess and the Frog would be a great addition, given its New Orleans setting. Can’t wait for the next screening—I absolutely loved it!
