Making Memories at Seal Bay Resort: A Personal Review

We had a delightful weekend at Seal Bay Resort in Selsey (previously known as Bunn Leisure). This was our second visit to the park, and our experience was just as fantastic as the first time. To maintain complete transparency, I must mention that our accommodation and certain activities were complimentary in exchange for an honest review.

Seal Bay Resort is conveniently located approximately a 2-hour drive from London, although travel times may vary depending on the time of day and your specific location within London. If you prefer to use public transportation, you can take a train to Chichester station and then proceed to the park by bus or taxi. To plan your journey efficiently, it is advisable to use Google Maps or a similar service.

Having a car at your disposal can be beneficial, especially considering the vast size of Seal Bay. While it is possible to navigate the park on foot and reach different areas by walking, having a car makes it considerably easier to move around and explore all that the park has to offer. If you don’t own a car, renting one could be a worthwhile option.

Seal Bay offers a complimentary bus service that operates from morning till night, continuing until the clubs close. Additionally, there’s the Bunni Express, a lively road-train provided by Bunn Leisure, offering a fun-filled mode of transportation between each village. These convenient options serve the Green Lawns, White Horse, Warner Farm, and West Sands Holiday Villages.

Let’s discuss the accommodation we enjoyed during our stay. We stayed in a Platinum select holiday caravan, which provided us with superb and spacious lodging, allowing us to unwind while indulging in those additional little luxuries. One of the highlights was the complimentary WiFi connectivity available in these top-grade holiday homes, ensuring that the entire family could remain connected throughout our stay.
Here are the additional advantages we experienced:

  • Priority check-in starting from 3:00 pm
  • Super-spacious 13ft wide caravan with wrap-around decking and sliding patio doors
  • Beds were already made up upon our arrival
  • A dishwasher was provided, which proved to be a huge convenience
  • The integrated appliances enhanced our stay
  • Free WiFi connectivity facilitated our connectivity needs

I absolutely adored our accommodation. It was impeccably clean, with the only task I had to handle being the descaling of the kettle, which is something I tend to do regardless of where I stay!
Having an en-suite bathroom was a delightful feature, and the dishwasher was a true game-changer. Personally, I despise washing dishes!
Both the main bedroom and the living room were equipped with televisions. Usually, I would opt for a basic-style caravan, but this experience has made me consider paying a little extra for such comforts in the future. It’s hard to imagine going back to a basic setup after enjoying the luxury provided by this accommodation.

Let me share our daily experiences during our stay from Friday to Monday. On Friday, after school, we embarked on a drive from London. We were all quite tired upon arrival, so we decided to have a relaxed evening at the arcade at White Horse Complex. Additionally, I took advantage of the convenience of having an Asda nearby, just a 5-minute drive away. I managed to pick up some food and items that I had unintentionally left behind at home. Having a store in such close proximity was incredibly convenient.

The arcade located near our accommodation offers a fantastic array of classic games that you would expect to find. From the traditional 2p and 10p machines to basketball and claw machines, there’s plenty to enjoy. Here’s a helpful tip: withdraw cash beforehand to avoid any fees associated with using the ATMs available at the arcade. Alternatively, you can utilize the free cash machine at Asda for your convenience.

We made the decision to dine at Café Lido, located within the White Horse Complex, on Friday evening. One of the reasons we chose this spot was its convenient proximity to our caravan. Café Lido offers a variety of food options such as burgers, fish and chips, ribs, and more. To give you an idea of prices, I paid £6.45 for a kids’ meal, which included popcorn chicken bites, fries, cucumber, carrots, and a fruit shoot drink.

Let me share with you all about our exciting Saturday adventure at Seal Bay Resort. We began our day by visiting the brand new “The Dockyard”, which turned out to be the highlight of my little one’s staycation. The climbing activity was especially cool, as the climbing walls were shaped like a ship. I must admit to a mum fail moment as I forgot to dress her appropriately for climbing, but she still did a fantastic job even in a dress.

Following that, we headed to the Bounce Nets, and she absolutely loved the 45-minute session, which is suitable for ages 5 and above. The staff engaged with the kids, making the experience even more enjoyable, and there was a separate area for younger jumpers, which was a thoughtful addition. Afterward, we had a fun time playing some golf before ending our Dockyard adventure. The proximity of all the activities made it convenient and enjoyable for the whole family.

We then proceeded to the pottery studio, which is also located inside the White Horse Complex. Little miss had a blast painting a burger-shaped piggy bank. The resort’s app is available for you to book all these activities, enhancing your overall experience.

The lido and splash zone were next on our list, and we were fortunate that the sun graced us with its presence, as it had been too cold to enjoy it during our last visit. No booking was required for the lido, but we made sure to have our guest pass from our holiday pack inside the caravan. The area also had a sand pit, sun loungers for use, and cabanas available for hire, creating a delightful setting for relaxation.

As the day progressed, we indulged in some more arcade fun at Ocean Bay, located in West Sands. We also took a leisurely stroll on the pebbled beach and savored a delicious dinner at Box Fish, where their fish and chips were exceptional. I highly recommend dining at Box Fish during your holiday at Seal Bay Resort.

On Sunday, we began with a swim, but part of the pool area was temporarily closed. We enjoyed swimming for a while and hoped to return later when the other part reopened. Another delightful meal at Box Fish followed, and we took a walk to the fairground. Although my little one wasn’t particularly interested in the rides. The fairground offered unlimited rides for £15 from 12 pm to 5 pm.

We then headed back to Ocean Bay and were thrilled to find that the part of the pool that was closed had reopened. The lazy river and exciting slides were fantastic, and my little one didn’t want to leave. The water was pleasantly warm, and there was a shallow splash area for young ones, as well as a pool with jacuzzi bubbles for added relaxation.

Seal Bay Resort offers a wide range of dining options and activities for both kids and adults. You’ll even have the chance to meet special characters like Bluey through meet and greets. To determine which activities are suitable for your children’s ages and to view the corresponding prices, I recommend checking the “Activities” section on the website. Swimming is already included in your booking, so there’s no need to pay extra unless you opt for specific swimming activities such as Aqua Toys or Aqua Run.

I’ve received numerous questions about accommodation options. When we visited in 2021, we stayed at West Sands, while during our most recent stay, we were located in White Horse. Personally, I don’t believe that one area is superior to the other, as I have a car and can conveniently navigate the entire park. In all honesty, we did quite a bit of walking, and my little one had no complaints. To help you decide, I recommend taking a look at the holiday park map provided here, so you can assess the different locations for yourself.

We stayed until Monday (usually we leave Sunday evening), and although it might sound a bit crazy, we managed to wake up, shower, have breakfast, and pack up our caravan by 5:45 am. Surprisingly, the journey back to London only took me 1 hour and 40 minutes, allowing more than enough time for my little one to attend school.

Seal Bay Resort offers an incredible staycation experience that I highly recommend. I’ve received numerous inquiries about the prices, but they vary depending on the size of your party, the type of caravan you go for and the dates you choose. For detailed pricing information, I suggest visiting their website or contacting them directly.

I thought I would mention that the Sun £9.50 holidays promotion will resume on July 8th, which is how I secured a fantastic deal for our first visit to Seal Bay Resort. I can’t confirm if the holiday park will be included in this year’s promotion, but I’ll make sure to keep you all updated if it is.

If you prefer not to stay overnight, you have the option to visit for the day as well. You can find additional information about day visits here.
