REVIEW: 5 Reasons Why The LEGO House is a Must-Visit Destination

AD|PR Invite

Our return to The LEGO House in Billund, Denmark marks our second visit, and we’re genuinely enthralled. Let me share my top 5 reasons why you should experience it too!

1. It’s easy to get to

Getting there is straightforward! I found affordable flights on Skyscanner, maintained flexibility with dates, and secured round-trip Ryan Air tickets for £25.51 through Mytrip. With my Zilch rewards, I only paid a total of £11.58. You can snag £15 for free using my referral link 🙂

The flight from Stansted Airport to Billund takes approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes. Upon arrival at Billund Airport, we hopped on the 166 bus, conveniently located just outside, which took us directly to the LEGO House.

You can buy your bus ticket either inside the airport or on the bus, and it’s cash-only. Kids under 15 ride for free, and I paid 24 DKK, just under £3, for a single journey.

2. It’s easy to do in a day

We’ve visited The LEGO House twice, both times as a day trip, indulging in endless hours of LEGO fun across its four main zones.

In the Yellow Zone, craft LEGO fish and release them into a digital aquarium – a genuinely cool experience. Venture into the Red Zone to witness a stunning waterfall made from 1,968,753 LEGO bricks. Immerse yourselves in endless pieces and colors, letting your family’s creativity run wild. The Green Zone offers the excitement of crafting your stop-motion movies. Lastly, in the Blue Zone, build race cars for family races and play the role of a city architect, managing an interactive metropolis for a day.

Don’t miss the Tree of Creativity – it’s likely the first thing catching your eye at the LEGO House. Take a closer look; the level of detail is simply extraordinary!

Explore the Masterpiece Gallery, a tribute to LEGO enthusiasts, delve into the History Collection at the official LEGO Museum, and enjoy the roof terraces housing nine innovative playgrounds catering to kids of all ages.

3. It’s fun for the whole family!

It’s an enjoyable experience for the entire family, spanning from the youngest to the oldest members! For the little ones, there are Duplo play spaces designed for those too young for standard LEGO parts, along with the mentioned rooftop playground.

4. They create the memories for you

Feel free to capture photos and videos during your visit, and with your magical wristband, seamlessly integrate physical and digital play for an enhanced experience.

Utilize the wristband to animate LEGO bricks – scan your LEGO fish to watch them come alive in the vast digital aquarium. Transform your minifigures into magazine covers and craft your stop-motion LEGO movie. Every memory is preserved as long as you scan your wristband at different locations.

Keep in mind that your memories are downloadable only within the initial 29 days following your visit, including the visit date.

I’ve got a cool IG highlight with our video so make sure you check it out!

5. Mini Chef

Because of how cool the whole process is, this was probably the highlight of our visit!

Indulge in a unique dining experience at the MINI CHEF family restaurant, where you play to order your food. Construct your dish using the four LEGO bricks, scan your table order for the minifigure chefs to prepare it, and then meet Robert and Roberta, the serving robots, to receive your delightful meal!

In my opinion, it’s a wonderful family outing easily done in a day. If you plan to extend your stay, consider using Booking.com or Hotels.com to find nearby accommodation. We’re planning to return next year and, hopefully, stay longer, so I look forward to sharing another review then!
