Majorca Round Two: What We Loved About Our Return

We hadn’t left the country since February 2020, and the last time we were on a plane was in October 2019! But we’ve just returned from a trip to Majorca, and it was absolutely wonderful! This little getaway was exactly what we needed.

I’ll keep this blog short and sweet. We booked through Jet2CityBreaks for the first time, and it was a great experience! I took a Bolt taxi to Victoria Station, which cost £6.42. From there, we hopped on a National Express coach to Stansted Airport, which cost £25.75 for a return ticket.

We stayed at the 4-star Hotel Mirador. Since it was a package holiday, the flights, hotel, and luggage came to a total of £221. I originally found a cheaper deal, but the hotel reviews weren’t great, so I opted for this one instead. It was three nights of pure bliss!

We took a taxi from the airport, which cost €21 for a 15-minute ride. The return taxi was the same price. While we could’ve taken a bus for less, I was craving a bit of comfort after the flight.

Our hotel room at the Hotel Mirador was lovely—modern, clean, and well-equipped with a walk-in shower, TV, two single beds, a fridge, and all the usual amenities. The hotel itself had a jacuzzi, plus indoor and outdoor pools. Unfortunately, the outdoor pool was closed as we visited out of season, but the view from there was still stunning!

We didn’t try the hotel’s food because I like to explore new restaurants each day, but I was a bit disappointed with the local options. I love Indian and Italian cuisine, but when I’m in Spain, I want authentic Spanish food! I struggled to find a good Spanish restaurant, so we ended up eating from street food vendors. While the food was tasty, the portions were small.

Since I’m triple vaccinated and my daughter is under 12, all I needed to enter Spain was my COVID pass—no tests required. I also had to fill out a Spanish passenger locator form, so be sure to have that ready. And don’t forget your masks! They’re mandatory in all indoor spaces, including on the plane. Kids aged 6+ have to wear them on Jet2 flights, but no one mentioned anything when my little one took hers off, and I didn’t push it.

I joined a helpful Facebook group that shares up-to-date information for travelers, including tips for filling out passenger locator forms for different countries. It’s been a great resource if you’re thinking of booking a holiday.

This trip was all about relaxation—I didn’t book any excursions. We just soaked up the sun, sea, and food, and it was exactly what we needed!

We were pleasantly surprised to stumble upon “Sa Rueta,” a children’s carnival. We saw so many families dressed up in fun costumes, so we decided to follow them (in a totally non-creepy way, haha). And let me tell you, we were not disappointed!

Little Miss had an absolute blast—dancing, playing, and making new Spanish friends. It was such a joy to see her so happy and immersed in the local festivities. Sa Rueta really added an unexpected layer of magic to our trip!

I think that’s everything I wanted to share! The holiday was absolutely perfect for us. We spent our time walking, exploring, and, of course, eating!

And the best part? In just 12 more days, we’ll be leaving the U.K. again! Any guesses where we’re heading next?
