REVIEW: Wingham Wildlife Park

AD|Press trip.

What a fantastic day out!! It’s around a 2-hour journey from London, and it was so worth the trip. There are so many amazing animals to see. Chimpanzees, Meerkats, Giraffes and more! Wingham Wildlife Park is a place you should visit, and I’m going to tell you why!

The animals.

All the animals seemed happy and healthy, which is lovely to see. I think we all enjoyed watching the Chimps. They were hilarious! There was a baby chimp that seemed to be playing with the children on the other side of the glass. It was amazing to see! Check out our instagram highlight for the videos! I’m sure you will laugh as much as we did. Also, a bit of a warning but the Chimp area is extremely smelly 😆

There are so many lovely animals at Wingham including:

Moon Bears (never seen them before. They are gorgeous)

Puma

Chilean Flamingos

Red Panda

Lions

Jaguar (again an animal we’ve never seen before)

You can see a full list of animals here.

It’s great to visit a place where the animals look well cared for! The size of their enclosures was nice and spacious. We also found out they the lions were rescued from a circus, so I’m sure they are happier being at Wingham. There was no crowding on the day of our visit, and we got the most amazing views of the animals.

Playtime.

There is a massive outdoor play area for the kids for all ages. It’s like an obstacle course. The kids are bound to have fun!

There’s also indoor soft play. I’m not entirely sure if it was open at the time of our visit as the weather was great so we didn’t bother to check.

Go-karts are £1

The Mini diggers are £1

Dinosaurs!

If your child loves Dinosaurs, then they will love Wingham! Wingham Wildlife Park is home to a super cool Dinosaur area full of like-like Dinosaurs with some that actually move and make sounds!

You can take some cool pictures here as well as learn interesting facts. There’s even a sandpit excavation area. It’s definitely a fun part of the park but be aware it could be a bit scary for younger children.

Food.

There is a cafe right by the children’s play area and another by the entrance. We went to the one by the play area, and you can see the menu below. I bought an adults chicken nuggets, and chips meal and the portion was generous!

It’s always a good idea to bring your food, but it’s nice to know they do warm food which is something you want if you’re visiting in the colder months.

COVID precautions

We felt very safe with all the social distancing measures and hand sanitising stations. You have to wear a mask in the indoor parts of the park. You will spend most of your day outside so you won’t be wearing a mask that often. It’s very easy to keep your distance from others so that shouldn’t be a worry.

Need to know

  • The park is mostly flat, so it should be easy to navigate a buggy or wheelchair.
  • There are plenty of toilets available.
  • There are baby changing facilities.
  • There are plenty of benches and places to sit and have your food.
  • There are some birds walking around the park freely, so be mindful.
  • The car park is free.

Would we go back?

Without a shadow of a doubt! It’s one of the best animal parks we’ve been to!

It’s good to know the animals are well taken care of. I never really was a fan of wildlife park because, as a pursuing vet, it really isn’t normal for the animals. But I guess proper and responsible animal ownership should really be maintained. But I can say I did have fun on a few animal parks I have visited 😄💕 great post and love your pics!
