The Tiger Who Came To Tea LIVE!

I LOVEE the theatre, I studied drama and creative writing at uni and I’ve taught drama for the last 5 years so I’m always finding opportunities to take my little one.

She’s a regular theatre goer now and she loves it. I’ve been taking her since she was 1 and she’s very comfortable sitting through shows without much fidgeting!

So we saw the stage adaption of the Tiger Who Came To Tea. What can I say other than it was a lovely family show! I always wonder how short books can be turned into big stage productions but this show was executed perfectly!

At the moment, my daughter is obsessed with counting. She’ll literally count anything we see so she was very please to join in with the clock countdown in the show.

There’s plenty of singing and dancing too. The cast encourage us all to join in and towards the end and we had a little boogie with the Tiger!

I love how camp the Tiger was. Definitely not how I imagined him as a child but he was hilarious and had the whole audience laughing!

We also loved the the characterisation of the postman and the milkman as they’re characters only mentioned briefly in the book.

The whole cast were great with the audience interaction. That’s what makes kids shows great. Having them feel like they are apart of the show!

At the very end we also got the amazing opportunity to meet the cast and of course the lovely Tiger. Check out the photos.

I can’t imagine anyone not knowing about this book but If you haven’, then buy the book or borrow it from your local library. It’s truly a lovely classic. Then of course, go and watch the show!

Also have you heard of kidsweek…?

Throughout August, kids can go free to theatre with a paying adult. The Tiger Who Came To Tea will be apart of this amazing promotion.

We loved the show and I’m sure you will to. All the info you need to buy tickets is below 😊🐅
