Sarah & Duck’s Big Top Birthday

Sarah & Duck is coming to a stage near you! How exciting! I saw advertisements for a Sarah & Duck show last year at the Polka theatre but was unable to go 😦 but I’m super happy it’s returning and so is my little girl. She loves watching it on CBeebies!

What’s it about?

Join Sarah and Duck, along with all their favourite friends including The Ribbon Sisters, The Shallots, Flamingo and Umbrella, as they plan a circus-themed birthday party for Scarf Lady in their garden. But when the weather turns windy and the big top is blown away, will Sarah and Duck be able to save the day?

The tour kicks off 25th March 2018

The show

I took my little girl to the show at Artsdepot and this was our first time at that particular theatre. It’s a lovely theatre inside and out!

We love watching Sarah and Duck on CBeebies so we were super excited to learn that it would be coming to theatres.

The show was great! It is recommended for children aged 3+ but as I always say, you know your child best. If they can sit through an hours performance with no fuss then take them. My little girl is 2 and coped very well.

Just like the Peppa Pig show we saw a few weeks back, the characters are puppets and you do see the actors controlling them, but the kids will be so amazed that they probably won’t even notice them 😀 I don’t think it takes away from the performance anyway. I always commend the actors for staying in character when using puppets as I can image it being quite difficult.

Sarah and Duck help put on a circus themed birthday party for Scarf lady with the help of her friends. There are some real magical moments in the show. We get to see funny looking star constellations, Duck flying into the sky after being shot out a cannon and a big size moon that talks!

My little was so happy to see Sarah and Duck and hasn’t stopped talking about them since we got home! It’s great to see TV characters come to life. We hope to see more CBeebies shows on stage in the fruited
